The about me section on my profile page is just toooooo long, so I decided to move it over here as a blog post. Think I'd like something else on my front page, but still thinking about what....

The most important things to know about me (IMHO) are that I seriously believe in God and try to live my life accordingly, I am a person of conviction, and I am always seeking spiritual enlightenment. I hope I will always see the need for improvement in that area (lol).

I am, after all, a spirit manifesting in a physical body, which is temporary. Spiritually I will always live and be known as I am known now. That is the hope and glory of Christ Jesus, that He defeated the sting of death for us and redeemed us as His own.

I respect all people of faith, realizing that many of their beliefs are a direct result of their childhood environment, as are most of ours.

I believe if we truly try to do what we know in our hearts that Jesus would do, then we will serve Him well.

I don't worry about the many rules, doctrines and creeds of various sects and denominations. I rather focus on the basics, the things that unite us as followers of Christ, the "GOOD NEWS." United we can bring about more change, show more love and bring more enlightenment to Christianity.

I have found that there are many wonderful concepts (such as living an honorable life, developing the mind, etc.) taught by other groups which are to be admired, even though they do not believe as I do. There are still things that I can learn from them.

I do not believe that creation and evolution have to be exclusive of each other. We have no idea how God created everything in detail, but knowing that he created the science that makes the world go around, allows me to accept that these are things that cannot be known on this earth. Therefore, I will not argue the points of creationism and evolution because there are no earthly answers, yet, and it doesn't have a true effect on the faithful or the faith. Nowhere in the Bible does it say "you must believe in creationism and ignore the scientists or you will not enter the gates of heaven."

I can be more than a little opinionated, but I'll always listen to a new idea or view and give it due diligence. I enjoy a good debate, it opens the mind to new possibilities and helps us to understand the other person better, as long as no one gets angry (grin).

I design and host websites... I write a little poetry... I blog... I love taking photos, especially of nature and I just recently took up the art(?) of crochet.
