On a whim, Laura and I decided to venture up I-75 to visit the 2004 North American International Auto Show at Cobo Center in Detroit on the first public day. We left before dawn in order to arrive as the doors opened, and had no idea into what we had gotten ourselves. There were people everywhere! We browsed the show floor for a couple hours before deciding to take the Ambassador Bridge over to Windsor for the afternoon.
After years of being relegated to seeing the concepts through magazines or MSN's coverage, it was fascinating to take in the show in-person. It has since become an annual tradition for us, being part of a combo road trip with the NASA OH/IN banquet the last couple years.
