Pintura Project 2009 was unbelievable on so many different levels.First off the writers,all of them,tore it down,it was an incredible job they did,Staz and E S put together this historic event,and they deserve all the accolades and praise for putting it together.They had a vision and despite all the nay sayers who thought this is too urban for them,they proved that this is truly cultural and everybody who attend the event will say the same.As for me I had the time of my life to see the beauty of this event turn out the way it did,from the art to the B Boys to the vendors,it was well organized...I might have had a little to do with it,Chino and E S choose to include me this time from the start,and we busted our asses to pull it off.I live for opportunities like this to be among my peers and play music that we all know and love ,I got to play breakbeats and classic hip hop all day long.I literally baked the whole day,the tent never came and it was me against the sun the whole day,the first few hours the sun kicked my ass but after watching my serato disc melt in front of eyes,I put it on the sun and fought back.I was working hard trying to keep everybody entertained the whole day,and finally at 6:30 I was done,the sun worked me over but my job was done.I turned it over to one of my DJ's , Riott ,and he closed the show.All of the love I got from the artist,vendors,B Boys made it worth it! (That and all the calamine lotion I had to put on when I got home !)My son,DJ E J,had a blast and collected a piece of history again by getting all the artist to sign a limited edition Pintura Project shirt.B A X my brother provided the emcee work and was great as usual.Lou from Azgod Empire,provided me with the multiple shirt changes with some exclusive Azgod clothes made for the event (and kept me hydrated!) IT WAS LEGENDARY,OFFICIAL TISSUE like I always say during my radio show.I want to thank everybody who came out but most of all ,my son,E J,Chino and his wife,E S,B A X,Lou,Kenny Dope,Riott and his wife,Swam and the whole B Side clan including Danny (Thanks for the shirt ,my son LOVED it!) all the artist especially Break,T Kid,Ces and all of Tuf City,and especially George with them pinchos ! Cant wait til the next one ,Pintura Project Ver 3 2010...
