Okay, okay.
I finished Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer about three days ago and the thought that keeps flopping around in my head is 'wtf'.
I absolutely LOVE the first three books in this series; Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. I really wish I could say that I loved Breaking Dawn as well.
The first three books were filled with such love, passion, action, and not to mention all of the repressed sexuality that I was really hoping that this book felt like a natural extension to the series. To my dismay, it didn't.
I won't say that I disliked the book. I did like it. Breaking Dawn kept me interested throughout the entire book. I was so totally surprised by the direction the author chose to take the book in that I almost had to keep reading just to see what was going to happen next. That's a good thing.
xxx Spoilers from here on out. You've been warned. xxx
One thing that bothered me was that the characters seemed to be a little OOC. I mean, after the first part of the book Bella just didn't seem like Bella anymore in my opinion. Jacob? He would have never gotten so friendly with the vampires. There was no way that he could have imprinted with one, either.
The whole teen pregnancy thing with the half-breed children theme kind of pissed me off as well. I mean, how did Edward knock Bella up in the first place? Well, I know how, but it just doesn't seem to make sense. I'm sorry, but Edward should have stopped creating sperm a hundred years ago. He should have been bone dry.
The book had a blah ending, too. Team Bella is ready to go to war against Team Volturi, and after around 30 pages where you're anticipating a huge battle the Volturi just walk away?
Then it's Happily Ever After? Literally? C'mon!
I'd rather have just had the first three books and the upcoming Midnight Sun. This book could have been left in a shoebox underneath Stephenie Meyers bed.
Almost forgot. Renesmee. I won't get over that name. Not ever.
End Book Review
Now to more pressing news. Me.
I haven't written a blog lately, so I'll get everyone who decides to read this updated.
I'm back in school. Devry University in Alpharetta. Currently taking two classes, Critical Thinking and Business 115. Majoring in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship.
I'm still taking care of Sophie. :] She should be walking soon.
My birthday was yesterday, so I'm 21 now. If you haven't sent a gift I'm giving you a 7 day grace period. Hurry now.
I haven't had my first drink as a 21 year old, and I might not have one. So don't ask.
Basically, everything is going pretty well. For once. I'm sure things will start breaking down soon. But for now... I'll keep my chin up.
Hopefully I'll be going to Budapest this year. I have a brother there. That and getting decent grades are my goals for the rest of this year.
Here's a gross comic:
