What better way to title a blog than to rip off a title from Common?

Anyways, the job search continues. Been doing a few odd jobs here and there so that takes up some time and gives me a little money, which is always good. I have another little job coming up in November. It's just a 3 week contract and I'm not even really sure what I'd be doing, but it's going to give me a little spending money for Christmas and pay a few bills.

I am getting pretty sick of interviews, though. I'm not really sure what people are expecting when I go there. With my resume, the only types of jobs I really get a response from are sales jobs and I'm looking to move away from those. But I know I can do those, so I go. But when I get there, it's another story. I don't know if it's because they're expecting the 'rah rah' pumped up fast-talking sales guy, 'cause that's not me. I've generally found that people don't like the fast-talking sales guy.

I guess I just gotta keep looking and something will come up.

In basketball, the Raptors are still undefeated at 5-0 in the preseason. This probably doesn't mean a whole lot in regards to regular season success, but it does provide some excitement. I can't wait 'til the season opener. Bring on Vince!

The World Series is going on and Detroit is in, though they trailing the Cards 2-1 right now, but, for some reason I can't really get into it. I try watching the games, but I keep flipping stations. I guess I need to wait 'til the end of the series to get into it more.

Yesterday I saw Little Miss Sunshine at Rainbow Cinemas and I have to say that is a really good movie. If you haven't seen it, go see it. There is a part during the movie that was pretty disturbing. Near the end of the movie you should know what I'm talking about.

One thing that bugged me didn't have anything to do with the movie, but with the theatre. We go there and they half the movies have the "Art House," or something to that affect, label. Meaning that the movies are $7.50 (instead of the regular $3 for a matinee). Still cheaper than most theatres, but kind of frustrating. It seemed that all the good movies had that designation. Do the theatres now consider any movie that was in a film festival to be an artsy movie and therefore they should charge more for it? I understood when I saw "The Motocycle Diaries" there, because it was a foreign film and not that well known, but "Little Miss Sunshine" is fairly well known. Regardless of price, the movie is still worth seeing.

I got a CD in the mail the other day by a group called the Villebillies out of Louisville, Kentucky. It's a mix of hip hop, country, and rock and is actually very good. Give it a listen if you get a chance.

Also, I'm still planning to release a compilation through my website (www.megacityhiphop.com) and I'm hoping to have it released early next year. It's getting pushed back a little bit because this job search of mine is taking a little longer than I'd hoped, but as soon as it is in the works, you will be the first to know.

Well, that's it for now. Until next time,

Matt
