We finish up a wild weekend with a reminder that I will be on with my buddy Steve Edwards, Jillian Reynolds and Dorothy Lucy on LA's top rated morning TV show Monday morning - Good Day LA, around 8am pacific. Should be fun!

I also want to thank the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers and soon TBS for participating in the post-season. I like TBS' coverage, but it won't be soon enough before the Frank TV and Dish Network overload of my good friend Frank Caliendo's commercial will end. I know they spent a ton of money, but unless you just watch a couple of innings, the annoyance factor of watching the same promos and commercials over and over again is off the charts more than anything on any network. Try watching all 4 first round series and tell me you aren't yelling at the TV?

In the NFL. I want to start off by thanking my Philadelphia Eagles for participating in the NFC East and NFC wildcard races. Before you accuse me of being a front runner and quitting on my team,  all you have to do is see that despite the improvement on special teams and adding a slid rookie receiver in DeShawn Jackson, they are lost whenever Brian Westbrook is out(even for a series)  They has no legit TE threat, kicker David Akers is no longer effective and with Mc Nabb no longer a threat to run, the division is all  but over for them. Just look at the schedules of Washington and Dallas and you will understand how they have dug themselves a deep hole. Bad play calling, challenges at the wrong time and mis-use of time-outs is just inexcusible for a solid coaching staff that is now grasping at straws.

The best thing about the NFL is thru 5 weeks, we don't know who the best team is, do we?  Is Washington now the best with wins AT Dallas AND Philly? Is it the defending champ Giants at 4 & 0? Carolina looks solid and despite a shaky secondary, Dallas will always find a way to beat bad teams with all of their weapons.
And, how about the AFC?  Tennessee is the only unbeaten team at 5 & 0, so are they the team to beat in the conference? Denver is 4 and 1, but their defense still doesn't look super. New England is hard to figure out and I'm still not sold on Matt Cassell, and while The Colts found a way to come back, it was the dreadful Houston Texans and they have no legit QB right now.
Teams that should be done but stay alive due to bad divisions: Seattle at 1 and 3, San Francisco and Green Bay at 2 and 3 and even a weird San Diego team remains hopeful despite a 2 and 3 record.

I'd also like to thank Kimbo Slice and CBS for being exposed as nothing but co-conspirators in the bogus attempt to pimp "EliteXC" as a legit Saturday night fight show. I like MMA and was onboard with the UFC back in 2001, but to lose to a guy with pink hair who was 30 pts lighter and a last minute replacement - in 14 seconds - is an embarassment! Kimbo Slice was exposed as an internet created hype machine with a fierce video-game look, but nothing more than a hard puncher who takes out bums on the streets. Wasn't it nice to know that Kimbo was worried about this "after party" in his post fight interview. Hope he enjoyed it for the last time as your 15 minutes are up Kimbo.

I'd like to thank my Kansas City Chiefs for getting poleaxed early so I would not have to waste time watching a full game(or even a half).
