December 30, 2008 - Tuesday

It's been six long years since I've seen my sister, Darleen. The last time I saw her was at our Mom's funeral. I have missed her so much. There isn't a day that goes by I don't think of her. I had talked to her a few days before Christmas and she was missing me just as bad.  She let something slip that I didn't know, she had a heart attack last year. Well that really scared me. The thought of anything happening to her and me not getting to see her again. It was driving me crazy. All I wanted was to see her.

Then my other sister Betty came to me and asked if I wanted to go to Florida with her to pick up her grandson. I broke down crying , It was like God had heard my prayers. So I packed my bags and was on my way.

Betty had told Darleen she was coming, but not anything about me coming too. Well we left on Friday it was 2:00 Saturday morning and we were only 80 miles away from Fort Myers and the fog was so bad we had to get a room. Poor Darleen thought no one was coming.

We got to Fort Myers  about 10:00 Saturday. Went by and she was at work. So we went and saw everyone else, went back to Darleen's about 3:30. Richard shows up, So we hid the car so we could surprise her. So time went by so slowly. Then it was time for her to come home.

And no Darleen. She felt so bad she didn't think Betty was coming so she went SHOPING. She was a 1:30 hours late. It was the longest hour and half in my life.

She finally comes home. Richard handed her the phone it was my other sister Cathy on the phone. She starts to talk to her and out pops Betty. She is so happy to see her, Their all laughing and hugging, then out I step.

I wish you could have seen her face. She was crying ,I was crying and Betty was crying. We graped each other and held on for dear life. I thought she was going to drop she was crying so hard. I think that was the best 5 minutes of my life.

We only had six hour together, but they were the best six hours of my life! I thank God for letting us see each other again. My Sister and Robert. That was the best gift anyone had ever given me.
