The show last night went great! Thanks to the Young Moderns and Little Fuzzy! Amnesia was packed and people were having a great time, sippin' the grog and diggin' the tunes. A mighty shoutout and rockstar award goes out to John Diaz of Tanker for his quick study on strings. We couldn't have rocked it like we did without you.
The recap: Kicked it off with BBQ Meltdown again and then... technical difficulties. Aw gee! Quick on the rebound, Rebecca and I fall in with the latest 20 second hit, "Jew Mom, Japanese Dad," to many cheers and guffaws. And then... bass amp still not working. You loved it the last time and so we brought it back, "Favorite Canuck!" Chad calmly takes charge running the bass through direct in and we're on to "Sack Lunch." Soon, we come upon the sleeper hit of the summer, "Liquid Lunch," as Rebecca starts a new band trend by pulling out props: a can of Campbell's Soup and a blue enamel ladle. And if someone gets hungry, next time we're bringing bowls and a camp stove. Nine songs played like we knew them in our sleep. Good times. One guy commented that it looked like we had really relaxed a bit and were ready to read the evening paper, while cranking out the tunes.
Great turnout again. If we keep this up, we might very well set a record for Tokyo Dome attendance next month. BTW, I just got my passport renewed and our work visas should be coming in very soon, though Chad had to get the paperwork faxed from Interpol on that international diamond thief charge (the paparazzi blew that one up way too big). Rebecca now has to figure out which fashion designer to style her for the event. Now, who are we going to get to play guitar on this gig?
Until next time, Andre
