Hello again!

Yesterday we went to beautiful Norwich in the 4th instalment of the epic Hundred Reasons/Canterbury/Scholars saga (boxset available for Christmas).

This was to be Scholars' second time in Norwich, having played the B2 when on tour in July. The B2 was a nice little venue but our jaws dropped when we arrived in the Waterfront as it's completely awesome.

Those crazy Canterbury lads played a trick on us...we went into a room that said 'Scholars and Canterbury Dressing Room' and were then pointed towards another door in that room with 'Scholars' written on it. Of course, that room was the toilet. How we laughed!

We took to the stage and rocked hard...it sounded good, it felt good, and besides the odd minor technical hitch it was generally amazing. We rearranged the set a bit and it felt well fresh.

After we played we ventured into the audience and asked people if they fancied signing up to our mailing list. This was quite scary but everyone was up for it, people were hungry for Scholars news. Only problem was it was quite dark and we had no light so most of the email addresses we got were pretty unreadable. Ah well! We might invest in a hard hat with a light on it, it'd be a nice gimmick in any case.

Canterbury were the best I've ever seen them...they dropped 'Take Me Out Of The Wall' into their set too and it's an amazing tune. Thing is, all Canterbury songs are great tunes. This band have a 100% strike rate. H*R were the powerhouse of rock we've come to expect, the audience were lapping it up as well they should.

After the show we were handing out CDs and stickers outside when some crazy cats lobbed a firework...I don't think it was intentionally thrown at me but it landed pretty near and for a moment I thought I was going to have my pretty face burnt off which would of course have been the end for Scholars. We might write the odd song and play the occasional show but everyone knows it's my good looks that are the real selling point. Fortunately by backing away saying 'woah woah woah woah' I avoided potential disaster.

Afterwards Tom and Sam got a little bit boozed up (only a bit mind) and bantered with The Andy (of H*R bass playing fame) which led to some highly amusing footage which you will shortly be able to see on SCHOLARS TUBE.

Mikey boy took care of driving duties and steered our vessel into port at around 2.30am.

LONDON TONIGHT!

Cockney? Come on down!
