There is nothing worse on God's green Earth than someone that lives in the past, like my brother. He has the biggest chip on his shoulder and feels everybody in the world owes him something and I tell him to get over it all the time because he's only hurting himself and that's why he is so miserable all the time. He spends so much time being mad over something he can never change that he is missing out on a lot of the now and future.
He's getting better and has been getting better for the last few years because he is slowly realizing that living in the past does nothing but kill you from the inside out. Honestly, it takes more energy to worry about something you can never change than it does to work hard at something new. It's almost like staying mad at someone just because you want to stay mad at them and for no other reason. You actually have to make an effort to stay mad or disappointed in them and it's such a waste of time and energy when it comes right down to it.
I for one do not live in the past because you can't change no matter what you do or how hard you try. No matter how you much you analyze it in your head it's not going to do anything but frustrate you more and cause nothing but problems.
Move the fuck on! I have no sympathy for anyone that can't let go of the past they're just being selfish and unrealistic if they can't. When they work themselves into an early grave do to unnecessary stress they got what was coming to them.
Worry worts are a lot like people that live in the past. Worrying is like a rocking chair...if gives you something to do but it doesn't get you anywhere. Same with carrying on about the past, it doesn't get you anywhere but alone and bored in the end because you'll eventually run everybody off cause they don't want to hear you anymore.
