Life is not fair...as an adult you should have learned this long ago. I had to tell one of my kids that life wasn't fair today. He knows it's not because he had to learn that at an early age when he's been abandoned by more than one person in his life. It's sad that he's had to grow up a little faster than he should have, but I try to rectify that by stressing he should be a kid and not worry about a lot of things to leave that kind of thing to his dad and myself.
It was over something that could really alter his life because it has to do with someone very close to him someone he loves but they may not really care what he wants or feels in return. Someone that he wants to see but their behavior keeps them from being able to see him. It's actually happening with more than one person in his life and his brothers and it makes me fuckin' sick.
There are times you just want to walk up to people and beat the ever liven' shit out of them for bein' so stupid and uncaring and ask "WHAT THE FUCK ARE THINKING AND HOW CAN YOU DO IT!" How someone can do something so wrong and know that it will have a negative effect on someone that loves them deeply even though they probably don't give a shit in return. Or worse, that someone that does wrong is being lead astray too.
I show my kids tough love because they should learn that the world is harsh and unforgiving and I want them to be able to handle that world when they have to face it head on. So when I had to look at my son and tell him life wasn't fair when he was sad...I don't feel bad because in the end he will be a better man when he grows up and hopefully he will appreciate it like I have from my parents.
Don't coddle your children or sugar coat anything with them and most certainly don't lie or distort the truth in your favor.
