THE BOB DYLAN SHOW
FEATURING BOB DYLAN AND HIS BAND
JOHN MELLENCAMP AND WILLIE NELSON & FAMILY
SCHEDULED FOR THIS TUESDAY, AUGUST 11
AT CAMELBACK RANCH IN GLENDALE, AZ
HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Jam Productions regrets to inform you that The Bob Dylan Show at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, AZ on Tuesday, August 11 has been cancelled.   The concert will not be rescheduled.
Given the weather forecast and excessive heat predicted for Tuesday, August 11 in the Phoenix area, it has been determined that these conditions have the potential to cause a serious health risk to the public, as well as the working personnel at the venue.  After careful consideration, it has been determined that this potential risk is too great for all involved.
While we understand that this will cause an inconvenience to those who purchased tickets and were looking forward to the show, the potential for serious heat-related injury resulting from extended exposure in these conditions brought us to this difficult decision.

Tickets purchased can be refunded at the original point of purchase.

I'm glad to hear it.  None of us should suffer in the heat.

Well we all braved the heat for the WILCO show but we still were only in the low 100's. Regardless I'll never go to another show there again. "Spotters" in the crowd calling in backup to do arrest; seriously!

Are you referring to a Wilco show at this same venue?
Were the 'spotters' calling in backup to arrest those partoking?

I agree with you about the health issue of the band and crew.  Dylan had that heart problem several years ago and nearly died.   As much as I hate the cancellation for the concert...it's just too damned hot for Dylan to take that risk.

Sorry Willie...I don't mean it against you or your band -- in fact the first time I saw you in concert was in Atlanta's Omni in 1975 so everytime you would be around in concert with the likes of Waylon, Jesse, your sister on piano and harmonica player "Micky"  aka Raphael  I was there!  Damnit I'm old but full of young, if ya know what I mean.  *wink*

I am sure the performers would much rather work. There is NOTHING worth getting heat stroke and other health problems for.

Will I LOVE your song " Blue Eyes Crying in The Rain." was one of my late mother's favorite.

Keep the great music coming. God Bless and protect you all.

Well you broke my heart for sure. We had four tickets to the show and were looking forward to the concert. I'll probably never have the chance to see you in concert again, and that's a drag.

Well, I recall, back in 1966-67 (?), a day there, where it was 123 degrees in August; it was hot outside & when you breathed in, it was hot air!  Never forgot that day!  LOL   =Judy=

I am glad that they made it to the Corpus Christi, Texas show.  It was hovering between 95-105 most of the afternoon.  The show was great, but the heat did take a lot of the fun out of it.....especially when crammed into a stadium in a standing room only situation.  I have stood through a lot of heat, rain and inclimate weather to see the legend Willie Nelson.  It has always been worth it-Willie never-ever disappoints.  I concur that cancelling the show in Phoenix was a wise decision, as the welfare of thousands of dedicated fans is too much to risk.  Willie and Bob have some age, but they'll be around for many more shows-and I look forward to seeing them further down the road..........

Saw the cancellation somewhere else but no reason given. Under these circumstances this is a good call. Anyone who would be critical of this decision should lock themselves in a sauna for three or four hours, then go have a BIG cup of STFU!!!

I was at last nights show at Grand Prarie TX.  I felt sorry for Willie and CO with the heat even there.

Melancamp was good.  As usual you couldn't understand a word Dylan sang.  I worried about Willie and his voice last night.  I have loved this man for so many years.  I wish that the rockers, Melancamp and Dylan understood that you don't have to be so darned loud.

Willie, I love you man, and I was glad my 30 year old son finally got to see you.  I sure hope you are entertaining us when I get to be the age you are now.

That I can understand....I did a outdoor show with Indie Artist's in 100 degree Georgia Heat with the humidity about the same. We all said the hell with and went swimming in the lake with our dogs. By the way, don't grab a microphone or an electric guitar while your wet......like I did. At least the audience thought it was the funniest part of my act.

You did the right thing!  Have been to events when it was soooo hot.  Saw lot's of folks wither and faint and........it's not worth it to risk someone's health.  Praises to you and yours - it's difficult to let fans down - but I can't help but think it was for the best.
