Just finished reading "Atom" written by Piers Bizony accompanies the BBC TV series of the same title presented by Prof. Dr. Jim Al-Khalili.

Prof. Al-Khalili and Mr Bizony have worked together on previous projects so their teamwork is great and perfectly fit for the purpose: to educate and entertain the audience of the BBC.

As the professor writes in his forward, this book contains the most significant stories of the scientists who risked their lives in order to study of the unknown: the atom. The 3-parter programme is visually stunning and the presentation is utterly viewer-friendly yet this book helps and supports the audience who would like to read to explore the history further.

The human drama behind the scenes of the super-famous and the not-so-famous physicists will delight you just like any top-quality BBC drama series that foreign TV stations demand for more. Moreover, it is crucial that the younger generation should be encouraged to study science, never stop asking questions for the good and peace of the world hence books like this really matter for our future - we need more environmentally friendly technology therefore we need more scientists to understand our world better, preventing disastrous pollution and so forth.
