UK Producer Endemic’s Debut LP Terminal Illness to Hit Stores March 24, 2009

New York, NY-- December 15, 2008 -- Money Maker Records / Emi
distribution USA is proud to announce the first release of several in
2009, Nottingham-based producer Endemic’s “Terminal Illness.”
Featuring emcees such as Sean Price, Planet Asia, Hell Razah, Killah
Priest and UK based artists C Mone, M9, & Triple Darkness, Endemic’s
debut album will bring heads back to the mid 90s, when New York’s
brand of hip-hop was taking the world by storm.

“My album isn’t necessarily what you expect of when you think UK
hip-hop,” explains Endemic who adds that his influences are US
producers like RZA, Pete Rock, and Boot Camp Clik. “I try to produce
beats that will get ill emcees moved to rip on the mic.”

But, Endemic has his own twist on the drum heavy -soul melodic rhythms
of the east coast: With tracks like “Robin Hood Theory,” the Brooklyn
legend Timbo King trades verses with LA phenomenon Planet Asia about
injustices of the governmental corruption over a rousing piano riff.
On the final verse Timbo King kills it with a hard-hitting assault on
the Bush regime in the spirit of the classic Robin Hood rebel.
Born in London in 1979, a good-sized city outside of London, in 1979,
Endemic lived with his college educated parents and an older brother.
When the family moved to Nottingham in the early nineties, Endemic’s
brother started busting out the NWA and Public Enemy records he was
hearing from the US. “I was mesmerized,” notes Endemic. “As soon as me
and my boys could put our pennies together, we bought turntables and
started gigging.”

Twelve years later, playing in the UK, including a regular soul, funk
& drum n bass night in Nottingham and festivals like the Outlook
festival in Croatia, Endemic started making beats for local artists.
After joining J Ronin’s All Elements Production Team in 2006, he
started getting requests from everyone from Kevlaar 7, Buddah Monk and
Sav Killz.

And that’s where he met DJ Phantom, aka Gustav Guerra, a hungry New
York cat who was DJing and always on the look out for new talent to
sign. Money Maker Records, which is cofounded by Guerra and Michael
Esterson and distributed by EMI came about out of necessity: “We
wanted to bring back the hip hop sound and excellence of the old
days,” says Guerra, who has put out records /managed artists such as
Saigon, Tragedy Kadafi, Killa Sha, Large Pro, Method Man, among
others. “Endemic is ridiculous,” he adds, “People don’t realize what
they’re in for.”
In 2009, Money Maker Records has LPs from Large Professor, Killa Shaw,
40-Cal, and UK emcee, Lewis Parker, to name a few.

If you’re ready for lethal beats and mind-blowing lyrical prowess,
look no further. “Terminal Illness” will deal you a fatal blow.
