I remember reading reviews of The Red Shift and Scarab in one of the early issues of Vibe Magazine and being really interested.  I was already a big Laswell fan and when the first volume of Certified Dope came out that was the first WS release I picked up.  I was hooked and own most everything in the catalog.  During my first trip to NYC in 1996 I stopped by Jammyland and was able to pick up a few of the early, hard to find releases including, finally, The Red Shift and Scarab :)

for me it was all about loaded with power, it felt exactly what i wanted from hip hop and i'm still searching for records like this but doubt i'll find any in my life time. it's a one off.

In  -96/-97 I heard "Beats Within" on the Electric Ladyland III compilation on Milles Plateaux, and was blown away. Started looking for Spectre releases without luck. Later stumbled over a white label in a crate, it was marked "Sesational Aka Torture", and later showed to be the "Loaded With Power" LP.
In 1999 I came over an expensive as hell import of "The Illness". Found you on the web and have been buying most of your stuff ever since.

An essential inspiration to me.

well...it all started confusedly, with the electric ladyland compilations..But the full frontal blow came with ROOTS CONTROL...and after that, scarab, Ebn E Sync....not forgetting THE WEAKENER
and i'm still hooked...
