Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. releases new book:
“Portfolio 16, The Art Quilt Sourcebook”

STORRS, Conn., October 16, 2009 - In Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. Portfolio 16,
The Art Quilt Sourcebook
, SAQA offers us more than 280 examples of cutting edge art quilts, large and in full-color. This volume, the fifth
in the Portfolio series being made available to the general public, is being released today at the SAQA booth at the
International Quilt Festival-Houston. “Portfolio 16 represents another step in the development of the art quilt. Evolving technologies are
enabling artists to create works that span the boundaries between mediums. An
increasing number of artists are creating works that combine photographic processes, artist-printed materials and computer-assisted design." said
Lisa Chipetine, president of SAQA. "This is an exciting collection of our member’s works."
SAQA began publishing the Portfolio in 1993, providing it to museums, curators, art
consultants and art galleries throughout the world. Since 2005, the Portfolio has
also been available, in limited quantities, to the general public.

Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc., is an international non-profit organization dedicated to informing the public about the continuing
achievements of the art quilt movement. SAQA’s over 2,400 members include artists, collectors, curators, art dealers and
corporate sponsors. Since its founding 20 years ago, SAQA has mounted juried exhibitions featuring the works of artist members at museums and galleries
throughout the world.
