I've decided to go public with my services...
I enjoy teaching and meeting new people. In my experience lessons can be really great or real horrible and depending on the instructor can be inspiring. My interest is in people who aspire to create their own music and providing them with the tools and direction to help them on that path. If someone wants to learn how to play stairway to heaven or songs of the radio
their are plenty of people to do that but i'm not one of them. In some respects i feel that learning too much of other peoples material can hinder the creative process, but a certain knowledge of scales, chords and technique can enhance your ability to create regardless of the type of music you are interested in. I've explored everything from avant garde jazz to hardcore punk and just about everything in between and im eager to share what I've learned.
Lessons would be out of my home in the clifton/northside area of cincinnati.
To make myself different from the standard music store lesson I am offering instruction in song writing as well. Instruction sessions can be recorded and burned to CD for a extra small fee and also i can offer recording and producing of demos of your original music. The prices will be relatively inexpensive since i dont have a full blown studio but a small home studio more set up for small groups or solo artists. I record straight to Hard Disc using an Apple computer and Digital Performer/Reason. I have a good arsenal of amps, guitars and mics that would be at your disposal. ( There are pics of my space and gear in the pic section here )
I also may as well offer my design services and will have samples in the pic section as well.
just send a message with any questions
~Billy~

Jesus WEPT ALLETZHAUSER!!! Why didn't you tell me about this!!!

I would like to take a lesson or two immediately!!! I have been dying to learn music theory and everyone keeps telling me it will ruin me and my songwriting!! Screw them and their nonsense and bring on the blues scales!

Outside of that, I do have a proposition which is a songwriter night in your basement where the milk and honey are aplenty (read: booze and drXgs). Of course, I will remain the sober one cuz God knows me going off the rails after 8 years would ruin the lives of all those around me and me.

This is how it would go..... you and I will take our pick of songwriters we want down in the Batcave (like 2 women and 2 men total) and who will make a commitment to show up. Each of us will come in weekly with a new song--even if it is a snippet. We can sort of critique and help each other along (like any of us need it but it is the effort to keep our minds actively writing). I tend to get inspiration when seeing people live so... Anyway, I know I like to write alone but unless something exciting is going on with me I have nothing to sing about-like right now. It would also be an effort for some of us to bring in an instrument to play along and learn that we've never played before-like my mandolin for instance or I could brush up on my lead skilz. I don't want to sound ghey but it would be like the Tuesday night music group or something... What do you think?? I suggested your place since it is the best place! What do you think? I have more ideas about it and will henceforth call you straightaway and tell you!

If this happens, please consider me. I've got a ton of stuff that needs to be recorded ... some of it needs some tweaks and twists. I, too, have a mandolin that needs to be played more often. Some hand drums too. Also have the coolest little dulcimer that I found in the clearance aisle at Walmart. Please do this , Billy...it could really be coolbesides being a lot of fun. Let me know if I make the cut.
