SYDNEY - March 27th @ MTV Music Awards

MELBOURNE – March 29th @ Corner Hotel

ADELAIDE – March 31st @ The Gov

This March, Australian fans of Adelaide’s most enigmatic pop export, Sia, will finally get what they’ve been waiting for. After three albums, a commercial radio smash hit (“Buttons”), and endorsements from the likes of Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry and Kanye West, Sia is finally making her way back home for her first ever Australian tour, presented by none other than MTV Australia, NOVA, Civil Society and Inertia. With dates in Sydney, Melbourne, her hometown of Adelaide, and a highly-anticipated performance at the Vodaphone MTV Australia Awards 2009, the tour is sure to be one of the most exciting of the year!

Described as “gritty and unique” by Christina Aguilera and “a beautiful artist” by Katy Perry, Sia has become one of Australia’s most beloved performers since she first rose to prominance as a vocalist for acclaimed UK act Zero7 on their Mercury listed ‘Simple Things’ and Grammy nominated ‘The Garden’. Gaining enormous attention in 2005, when her ballad “Breathe Me” soundtracked the final moments of cult television show Six Feet Under, Sia’s story since has been a rapid rise to success. Upon the 2008 release of her third solo album, ‘Some People Have Real Problems’, the video for her first single “Buttons” became a viral sensation, earning a high profile endorsment from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and going on to become YouTube’s second most watched music video of all time! In Australia, “Buttons” became a surefire radio smash, getting constant rotation on NOVA and Take 40. In the USA, iTunes named her album ‘Some People Have Real Problems’ the #1 Pop Album Of 2008.

Yet with a skyrocketing profile and her constant relocations from Adelaide, to London, to L.A, and finally to New York, Sia has never before had the chance to perform for the legion of fans in her home country – until now! Graceful and emotive while quirky and charming, Sia is determined to make her debut Australian tour one of the events of the season, with a unique performance for the MTV Music Awards in Sydney, as well as stunning gigs in select capital cities.

With her new video for “Soon We’ll Be Found” now gracing MTV, as well as earning the accolades from Kanye West on his trendsetting Kanye Universe City blog, now is the perfect time to embrace the Adelaide pop superstar whose smoky voice and glorious songcraft have captivated the world.

Sia’s first Australian tour also includes the release of a limited edition 2CD version of her ‘Some People Have Real Problems’ album which hits the stores on the 7th of March 2009.

The album features the singles “Buttons”, “The Girl You Lost to Cocaine” and the brand new single “Soon We’ll Be Found”. The bonus disc includes remixes by CSS, Mock & Toof, Stonebridge, Tom Neville, Lifelike, Jimmy Vallance and Chris Lake.

On top of this, Sia has been nominated in the category of "Independent Spirit" at the Vodaphone MTV Australia Awards. To vote for her, click here.
