PRESS RELEASE
August 5, 2009
Pirate Records, in conjunction with Dotson Wooley Entertainment Group and
Lost Gold Records of Elkins Park, PA., are pleased to announce that
banjoman Todd Taylor will appear on the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy
Telethon on Labor Day 2009. The MDA audience last year was comparable
to that of the Emmy Awards, Golden Globes and Academy Awards. We’re in
great company! The Telethon has an audience of some 40 million on both the
national broadcast and on some 180 television stations carrying the show, as
well as worldwide on the Internet thanks to the pro bono support of
RealNetworks, Inc.
Todd has achieved many milestones in his recording life including being the
first person to bring the Banjo as a solo instrument to the Rock and Roll Top
40 with Ricky Dees, Todd Pioneered Rock and Roll banjo playing. Todd was
also the first to set the first worlds record with the banjo and many other
personal victories he has accomplished in his life offstage. His own battle
with a degenerative muscle disease brings him a personal knowledge of what
Jerry's Kids go through while they are fighting MD! This will be Todd's
second appearance on the Telethon and he is looking forward to lending his
name and talent to this years fund raising event.
Todd will perform live from the world famous stage at The South Point Hotel,
Casino and Spa in Las Vegas, NV. Be sure to tune in to the telethon and
watch Todd perform, on September 7, accompanied by Master Guitar Player
Robert Feathers and Master Bass Player Mike Moody, who has played on
all of Todd's recordings in the past. The Telethon is sure to be a big sucess
this year!
Be sure to call in and make your pledge this year to assist in the fight against
MD!
