Yesterday i got back from a week on the stunning island of Mallorca in Spain. The weather was amazing and i feel so refreshed after getting some good away time from London! Although, its always good to come home....would have been nice to have had another week away from work though!
Being away from everything gave me much time just to laze around by the pool and at last listen to loads of things on my iPod which i never have the time to give my full attention in London. I'm so pleased i did because i have discovered the brilliance that is Paramore and Kids In Glass Houses. I had heard bits and pieces from both these bands but never had a chance to listen to everything in detail.
Firstly Paramore. What can i say....absolutely bloody brilliant album! Its nothing ground breaking, but the instrumental arrangements are ace, super tight. And Hayley Williams, well apart from being a little pocket rocket of cuteness she has an incredible voice! I mean really really good for the genre. Every tracks showcases her amazing range and clarity but the track which grabbed me the most has to be Hallelujah. Great little riffs, big chorus, and again an amazing vocal from Hayley. The chorus is exceptional, especially 3rd time round after the middle 8. Amazing.

And Kids In Glass Houses, again, really great album from beginning to end. Catchy tracks, great riffs and again great vocal ability from lead singer Aled Phillips. And like me, being from Wales, i'll give them a ten! Nice one lads!

Anyways, enough about other bands! More about Selfservice! I haven't seen the band since last week, but we've got lots of rehearsals planned getting ourselves ready for our big Astoria 2 gig! We're all super excited about it. We still need lots of your support. We want the venue to be packed with Selfservice fans!!! To find out more about the gig click the banner on our page.

Right, i think this blog is quite long enough. I'm going to deal with my holiday blues about being back in Britain and listen to more Paramore.
