I agree with Crystal. Not a fan.
 

I absolutely hate music on websites because it is distracting. Plus, some folks will look at websites while at work, so the last thing they want is music blasting from their speakers and they have to look all over for a mute button. Even sometimes after pressing the pause or mute button, it still loads.

You want to sell the photos, not the music. I will actually go back to websites without the music than with the music because it is a turnoff for me.
 

Much like Crystal and Jessica (love both your musical tastes BTW! :)), I like having my musical taste go with my photos on my personal pages - both are "art" and a reflection of who I am.

On professional pages, it's a bit different. Most people like music and music is a great tool as mood enhancer which comes in handy if you want to sell something. Music even makes cows give more milk! LOL

The only problem is to find the kind of music that goes with your work and isn't too distracting for visitors, as some already pointed out.

I would always choose something "neutral", easy listening style or maybe even instrumental only and give the viewer the option, to turn off the player. My pet peeve is when going on sites with music I don't like and my only option being to turn down my speakers...
