Who Gives Kudos:

July 1, 2007 - Sunday

Current mood:  contemplative
Here are the lyrics to "For Such a Time"... a song that I have gotten a ton of encouraging feedback about. This was a song I wrote for a women's conference at my church called "Divine Women: Influencing Their World". As I pored over the stories of Moses, Esther, and others, I realized... these were just normal people. They weren't born into wealth or power. But they were --as we all are-- born into an incredible call of God on their lives. I think what struck me most was that what they were called to do was beyond what they could see and far beyond what they could accomplish on their own. It took faith to step out...

So often we come face to face with big decisions... and with futures that look so vast and unknown. Maybe we know what God wants us to do. Maybe we don't have the slightest clue. But we can be assured that God's plan for our lives, the dreams he dreams for us... are HUGE! If we knew what we were called to do, if we saw our whole lives laid out before us, we would probably shy away. He calls us to take just one step at a time. Just one step. And you know what's even better? He holds our hand and promises never to let go.

Maybe you feel underqualified, like Moses did. Or maybe fear holds you back... you'd better believe that Esther's first step into the throneroom took a lot of courage. Maybe you've tried and failed too many times to count. Maybe life has thrown some serious set-backs in your way. God will never stop calling you out!! Out of your comfort zone, out of your perfect cookie-cutter plans for your life... out of all that! Before He even created you, you were weaved into a grand tapestry, a spectacular piece of art, and your place in that tapestry affects everyone else around you. Moses' decision to follow God's call brought the whole nation out of their bondage in Egypt. Esther's plea to the king saved all of the Jewish people. And your decision to follow God... well, it affects more than you can even imagine. Your destiny is waiting! For such a time and place as this, YOU were born! Be encouraged by this song! Love you all!

For Such a Time

A burning bush and holy ground
A voice calling him out
A nation in bondage, needing hope
But their cries had been heard
A voice calling him out

Surely he was purposed for that time, for that place
In the span of history
Part of a master plan
More than what his eyes could see
And though he stuttered and he stammered and felt so underqualified
He was purposed, He was purposed for such a time

A signed decree and certain death
An orphan's destiny
Three days of struggle, fasting, prayer
But her cries had been heard
An orphan's destiny

Surely she was purposed for that time, for that place
In the span of history
Part of a master plan
More than what her eyes could see
At the entrance to the throne room oh she pushed her fear aside
For she was purposed, she was purposed for such a time

We are all part of this bigger plan, a grand tapestry
And if we'd just walk by faith then we can live boldly

He's calling you out to do great things
He's calling you now to do great things
He's calling you out to do great things
He's calling you now

You are purposed for this time, for this place
In the span of history
Part of a master plan
More than what your eyes can see
In your struggle, in your weakness there's a God who's always strong
If you falter, or should you fail
He will pick you right back up
For you are purposed – hear Him call
You are purposed – for right now
You are purposed for such a time as this

Wow...I love this song so much. Everytime I think that I'm not good enough and that I shouldn't be here I turn this song on and remember that God loves me and that I have a purpose and a destiny. I love it Charmaine well done.
