Soooooo,, Where to begin.. 

We set off on Friday for Cork because a drive that long on Saturday morning was just not going to happen. Its important to know your limits in this world and Im truthful enough to myself to know theres no way in hell Im draggin myself out of bed to drive to cork at five in the morning. So with this knowledge taken carefully into consideration.. Friday was drive day.

Joe was already in the beautiful South West at a family wedding on Thursday and he had set Friday aside to meet with a few venue owners and such people Im not allowed talk to, not after the last time... 

We got to Cork safe and sound and met Joe in Topaz.. Topaz in Cork city has no toilets and they charge a small fortune miller. I paid over ten quid for six bottles. Thanks Topaz

We then spent the next hour and a half looking for our accomodation which was halfway back to Carlow, By halfway back I mean Youghal, but its still back the way I came.. Anyway we finally got to Youghall and we spent the rest of the evening chilling out with some of Joe's family down there. Thanks Pauline and Stephen.

We headed back into Cork city Saturday morning and got set up for a day of performing and general selling ourselves. At this point I need to thank Stephen, Siofra and Nial who made up our street team for the entire weekend. They were in-valuable and thats why we didnt pay them. Thanks guys

We played in Rory Gallagher place which turns out is a major hangout for the youth of Cork who spend there day hugging each other and buying 27 euro bars of chocolate.. (that one is too strange to explain) 

We did have one upset in Cork which was unpleasant. We came across a few nasty kids that took five or more discs each.. not so bad at the time but a nice woman informed us they were breaking up the cd's down the street. I went down and confronted them and they had nothing to say.. they just stood there like bold children. It took a lot of good out of the day for us. They thought it was funny to break up someones cd that they were given for free just because they got it for free. We packed up for the day and took the evening off. We had accomodation booked in the city centre so there was no more driving for the day. 

Sunday morning we all pilled back into the van and made our way to Tralee. We were looking forward to the big stage and full band sound in Tralee so spirits were high. We called into the Rose of Tralee Reception and collected the keys for the appartment they gave us. Cheers Rose of Tralee, ps. I think I left my runners in the kitchen. We all went for a full Irish in the pub beside the church. The watress was lovely,

When we got down to the main stage around 4.40 the coronas were starting their sound check. There were a couple of delays that managed to stress everyone out a lot but it was all fine in the end. We started our set at around 7 and played for an hour. The slot was good and early which is never ideal but this was more than compensated for by the quality of the sound both on and off stage. We cant thank the engineers because we forgot there names, but they were lovely. I think Ill call them Derek and Tim.. Cheers guys, your legends. The show went better than we could have hoped so all were happy out in camp Cleere. We stayed around to listen to The Aftermath, Theyre lovely fellows and so were the Coronas for that matter. They arrived just in time for their set but we got chatting to Jim who has managed them since they were too young to sleep all day and drink all night. He was one of their mates in college and started taking care of them as a favour. I want a mate like Jim.

I guess we can sign off by thanking the lady that took fantastic care of us throughout the Rose of Tralee gig. The Stage manager Ciara was a little legend, and she did a fantastic job. Cheers Ciara
