As if last months miraculous act of God providing funds to represent each member of the Dark Horse family in the "Calling Cards for the Troops" radio-thon on the Night Ride Radio Show wasn't enough, the Lord stepped up in an even greater way during this month's radio-thon that took place December 2nd & 3rd.

"GOD PROVIDES FOR THE DARK HORSE FAMILY"

On second night of the radio-thon, I was chatting away in the Night Ride Chat room and listening to the LIVE web stream of the broadcast.  Things were joyous and everyone in the chat room was having a good time.  But Bruce Hodges, the host of the Night Ride, made a statement that the phones weren't very busy with pledges.  So I began to pray to myself for some inspiring idea to help generate some incentives for people to donate to this worthy cause.

Let's be serious here folks!  We all know that times are getting tougher by the day financially, but just take a moment and put yourself in the shoes of one of our brave troops serving right now in Iraq & Afghanistan.  Put yourself, your spouse, a child, or other family member over seas, in harm's way every minute of every day.  Now think about how important it would be for you & them to call home.  Our government doesn't pay for their phone calls, they have to pay for them themselves.  So now how important would it be to you if a group of radio listeners were donating money to purchase calling cards so you could get one of those calls for the holidays?

Well, back to God's wonderous act....
So God put an idea into my head and I typed it out to Bruce in the chat room.

The idea was to challenge the listeners to donate during a specific time period and Dark Horse Promotions would match each donation up to a total of $100.  The period of time would be as long as three songs in a row, by Dark Horse artists. 

Bruce loved the idea and made the announcement on the air about the challenge.  The songs that got played were, "Puttin' My Faith In You" by Lauren Mascitti, "Amazing" by Bill Steely, and "Heroes" by Keith Dudley.

Satan did his best to cause problems, because he knew what God was about to do.  The devil blocked Bill Steely's song from being played at the start of the challenge with a technical difficulty, but Bruce moved forward to play Lauren Mascitti's song.  "Puttin' My Faith In You" began playing and the devil turned tail and ran.

As the song was playing, I began typing words or prayer & thanksgiving to the Lord in the chat room.  The others there joined in as we asked to see God move in a mighty way.  The phones in the studio began to ring as donations came rolling in.

Remember that the goal was to be $100 in matching funds, for a total of $200.  At the end of Lauren's song, almost half of that goal was reached!  The next song to play was Bill Steely's "Amazing" which played without a problem now that the devil was gone.  More donations came in, but we were still short of the goal.

Everyone in the chatroom was pouring out words of praise to God for what he was doing and was about to do.  It was a worship service via the internet!!  What an experience!!  But God was just having fun.  He was about to do the miraculous right before our eyes.

Keith Dudley's song, "Heroes" was dedicated to the troops & their families by Bruce as it began to play.  Bruce updated us in the chat room that the total pledges amounted to $69.50.  I knew God had bigger plans for this or he would not have given me the idea.  So I went back to fervently praying in the chat room and the amazing friends in there joined in agreement with me.

Are you ready for this?

Within the last minute of the song, the phone in the studio rang.  Marie, who was answering the phones for Bruce in the studio, picked up the phone.  The person on the phone made a pledge of $31!!

THAT WAS IT!!!  GOD EXCEEDED THE GOAL OF $100 PLEDGED DURING THOSE THREE SONGS!!!

With the matching funds of Dark Horse, $200.50 was raised during that time period!  Is that totalling amazing or what?  God is so worthy of our praise!!!
