How long have you guys been together as a band?

We've been together in some shape of form since around 2000. We started as just a bunch of friends playing Blink-182 and Green Day covers, and our music changed with our interests, and band members changed as our friendships did.

How many band members do you have and who plays what?

We have 7 members; Ben on drums, Will on bass, Ste on Guitar, Hannah and Charlotte on Alto Sax,Tessa on violin, and Francis on vocals and trombone

How did Stand Out Riot become a ska band?

We were all fans of bands like Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish since before I can remember, but I suppose the one defining moment would probably have been seeing the Voodoo Glow Skulls in Manchester about 5/6 years ago, and it all sort of clicked, and we all knew that this was what we wanted to do.

How is the U.K ska scene?

At the moment the UK, and especially the Manchester ska scene is awesome. We have loads of home-grown bands coming up, who are currently all wow-ing local audiences. Which is a good thing, because over the past few years we've seen so many inspirational UK ska bands split up; bands like Capdown, Howard's Alias, Adequate 7 and Lightyear, to name a few.

What are some bands you guys have played with?

We've shared stages with people like Canada's Planet Smashers, as well as top UK acts like Sonic Boom Six, Random Hand and the JB Conspiracy

What can fans expect at a Stand Out Riot Concert?

A giant ball of sweating, jumping, screaming, energy... and probably some songs too!

Describe your fans?

hmm.. that's a difficult one. We obviously play to a load of teenage ska kids, but I think my favourite thing about playing gigs is the variety of people who enjoy our music. We're always getting people coming up to us after gigs sayingthings like "Well... I'm not really into ska but... I thought you guys were great!"

Have you guys toured? If so where and how long?

We've never done a full tour so far, but this will all change in July '09, as we're planning a mamouth UK tour, where we'll hopefully travel the length and breadth of this fair isle.

How many releases does the band have?

So far, we've released one album, Carnival Militia, three EP's, and then there's a whole heap of old demos that are out there somewhere if you dig deep enough!

Are you guys signed?

Our album was self-released, but recently we've been doing a lot of work with our friends at TNSrecords, and hopefully we'll be recording some tracks for a split EP which they'll be releasing in Autumn '09.

How can people check you guys out and get ahold of your music?

Recently, we've taken over the entire internet, so you can:

-Listen to music at myspace.com/standoutriot
-Watch videos at youtube.com/standoutriot
-And buy things at cdbaby.com/standoutriot, standoutriot.bigcartel.com, or search for us on iTunes or Amazon.mp3!

Any last words for Stand Out Riot fans?
