Arf-Arf My 2 Legged and 4 Legged Friends!

Last night I was busy sending out some messages to my My Space friends.  Not an easy task with paws!  All of a sudden, a big message showed up on my home page saying I couldn't send messages or do anything else cuz someone "phished me."  Phished me?  I'm only a five pound pooch, but I had no clue what phishing was.  I hear in Minnesota they do it thru ice.  In New England they do it in the ocean.  And in Michigan, my friends tell me they do it in the Great Lakes.  But phishing on My Space? Didn't have a clue.  Have you ever gotten a message from the top dog,  Mr. Tom like that?

So, at 1AM (I'm a late night kinda pup), my 2 legged Mom was so concerned some big bad person was going to destroy my page and I would lose all my nice friends, that she called a nice human who assured her that the message was not a phony message that would take all my personal info (you never know) and so all is well again. 

So the way I see it, phishing is when someone has way to much time on their hands/paws and sends you a phony page just like the page we see everytime we sign in - to steal your information.  So, when you sign in, you gave that phisher (?) all your personal information. Yikes, why would someone be so mean?

So, the way to avoid that is beware if you are "playing" in My Space and the sign up page comes on again  - when you already signed in.  It's as natural as barking, I see that sign up page and automatically sign up when it pops up. Just don't!
 
In case you have never been "phished" - thought I'd give you a heads up.  And any further info you'd like to add- that would be so helpful.  What do you humans say?  Knowledge is power?  Something like that.

Oh yeah, if you did get some weird message or bulletin from me late last night pushing bad dog food or silly underwear - that wasn't me:)  Someone used my name and went phishin'

Hi there Schmitty, we were on late last night too and we got phished. We feel like we should be flopping around afterwards or something like that. I wonder who cam up with that. Well, we just got it again. Guess we are going to have to be really careful on here. There is always someone out there trying to spoil all the fun.
Oh and we have missed you so much. We thought that you must be busy with something. Well, glad your back in business now. We will be sending you a special Valentine. Libby is still in love with you!!! BOL You have a good evening and try not to get phished ok?
