Current mood:  drained
Category: Music

The show last night was pretty intense. Burning Burro's first show, 2 national acts, and Gremlins that I honestly believe were camped out inside Tony's massive bass drum.

Pat Travers goes on without a hitch. I have to give those guys some credit. With limited time to dial in a sound and using Tony's kit, my rig, and some rented amps they nailed it. I was never a big Pat Travers fan but it definitely raised him up in my view. No complaints with those guys whatsoever.

George finally took the stage and was actually pretty damn funny with the stories he was telling. I don't think I'll ever hear enough about drama between him and Don Dokken. Funny shit! We start playing Tooth and Nail and everything was loud, thick, and exactly what it should have been. We get halfway through Mr. Scary and I start smelling smoke and circuit breakers stop popping. George's amp that he had shipped in goes up in smoke and trips the breaker. WTF! So we grab one of the amps that Pat Travers rented. Tone was wrong but screw it we're playing this damn show! We start playing Just Got Lucky and everythings back in tight again and I think we're home free. A couple songs later we had an issue with the mains which I believe may have had something to do with a particular amp wanting to be more of a fog machine and causing spikes in the Livermore grid! So..... It's Not Love is halfway through, I'm screaming my head off so the crowd can hear and said screw it. I turned to George and said SOLO!!!!  The rest of the night was an instrumental which was cool and afterwards everyone was happy. So even with all the Gremlins, I was stoked.

If you have any questions, join the club........ I'm tired!

I Dare You

Glad you had a great night and were able to get through the glitches. Wish I could have been there!

You did a great job Paul..1 singer to another..I could hear enough to know you were nailing your parts, it's a bummer that everytime you "got on it" the feedback Gremlins crept in (result of soundman trying to boost you in monitors because of the blown mains I think was the final determination?) and cramped your effort. I was proud of you, heck we all were, you kicked ass on short notice and maintained your composuer in the face of adversity-wich is the sign of a professional. Pretty good for a first show at The Burro. I'm sure they will take the necessary steps to avoid another electrical meltdown. I got itchy feet when you were carrying the choruses alone...wanted to help my bro! Let me work on adjusting the pics I got, I was in back so they need a little PhotoShopping work. See ya soon around The Burro I'm sure, Timmy & SLACKENLOADER.
