....................
Yay Spring!!!!!!!! Well, so much going on can't think where to
start...ok. Diaries out?
On the 22nd of this month, a radio special about me (and,
possibly, some of you!) will go to air from 10 pm on 3SER FM, which can be
found at 97.7 on the dial, or at www.3ser.org.au
on the net. A lovely man called John Broughton asked me some very interesting
and intelligent questions so it might be fun to tune in.
September 25 sees another gold-class gig at The Piping Hot
Chicken Shop, featuring the wonderful Joelenes making their debut appearance,
and me, playing some new songs and getting some of them right. Come for thrills
and spills and chills!! $15, book on 5255 1566. It's a top night out.
Which makes me think of Rockbottom James, who's having throat
issues, which means the Detonators are out of action for a little while. Love
to you James, you're one of my favourite singers.xx
On Sunday September 27 at 2 pm, I will once more take the reins
of the JVG Radio Method on 3RRR , 102.7 FM. (Have you all paid your
subscriptions?) The theme I think is going to be "Ladies" and it will
be a gas. Bag. www.rrr.org.au for those
international hipsters!
Jeremy Edwards and his ridiculously good-looking band from
Sydney, Dust Radio, are coming to play the Chook Shop on the 2nd of October!
Sambrose Automobile , who are a fabulous Flaming Groovies / Breadmakers style
white r'n'b band from Ocean Grove will do the support. Wow!!! I will be there,
maybe sing a couple.
October 3 is a special date on the ol' carrollcalendar, as The
Mudcakes are playing at The Chicken Shop, AWESOME, and I get to open the Poetry
Idol Grand Final at another of my favourite places, The St Kilda Bowls Club on
Fitzroy St from 7.30 pm. Also playing this night, Suzannah Espie and Trish
Anderson!! OMG!!!LOL!!!WTF!!!! Get there on time or you'll be eating my dust as
I will be dashing off to catch Justin Townes Earle and Wagons across town.
The final thing I'll be telling you about, and the last thing
happening before me and The Junes bugger off to outback and northern NSW, is a
special live album recording on OCTOBER 17 by Steve 'Lungs' McEwan, a veteran
of the rock and blues scenes in Melbourne and down here on the Bellarine.
Steve's ace new tunes will be captured at the fantastic Potato Shed and myself,
Suz and Narelle from Sweet Delores, Stretch 'Organ Boy' Teakle and the lovely
Hollie Joyce will be right there with him. Steve's band is very grouse and I'm
really excited to be part of this event. Tickets and enquiries, have a look at
Steve's myspace or call the Potato Shed on 5251 1998. Also, you can email Rob
who runs the joint on rmacleod@geelongcity.vic.gov.au.
That's about it for now my angels! Check
