Why is it that when I tell my friends that Yomayra's out of town, they instantly try to convince me to cheat on her?

Yomayra is in Egypt until Saturday. I'm pretty down about it because I can't even communicate with her. I call up a friend of mine and he says, "I have the perfect idea!" His perfect idea: Bring slutty girls over to his house and have sex with them. Not just hit a bar and flirt and try to pick up, THESE ARE GIRLS HE HAS ON SPEED DIAL! I, of course, say No. He then goes off on a tirade about how I'm a pussy and Yomayra's probably off with some guy, and I should just "be a man."

I'm sorry. Since when does being unfaithful to your girlfriend, or wife in the case of the other guys who ended up going, make you "a man." Forgive me for choosing to rise above the stereotypes that dictate a guy should fuck every girl that crosses his path.

I am in a committed relationship--ONE WOMAN! I love Yomayra very much. I am lacking nothing. I have a wonderful girlfriend who cares about me and shows it! I am CONTENT! I don't know how to express it any more clearly! Why should I risk a relationship that I see lasting well into the future, for some random encounter that will mark me as a scumbag for the rest of my life? I'm not even going to go off on the tangent of how these girls are lettting these assholes disrespect them in such a personal way--that's their issue and not the one I'm focused on.

Who is this guy, who cheats on his girlfriend on the very bed they sleep in, encourages his married friends to join him, and has no respect for women, to tell me I'm less of a "man" because I refuse to lower myself to his level!? A real man lives up to his convictions and principles; He lives up to his commitments; He treats women WITH RESPECT! He knows that trust is one of the most valuable commodities in human emotion because it is the hardest thing in the world to earn and the easiest thing in the world to lose. A REAL MAN LIVES WITH HONOR, doing what's right BECAUSE IT'S RIGHT!

Now, some of his friends are single, with ties to no one. Fine. Whatever. They can do whatever the hell they want. But some of these guys are married men, with wives and kids and families! AND THEY JUMP AT THE CHANCE! WHY!?

This guy has the Balls to say (and I'm quoting), "what... you think that makes you a better person than me?" YES!!! I am better than you! I don't care how much money you have, how much you work out, what car you drive, or the house you live in! I am a better man than he ever will be, because I am capable of living with truth, honesty and priciples! I am better than him because my life will never end as a pile of lies, smoldering in ashes after one of those lies catches up with him and crashes and burns.

To all the guys out there reading this, remember that you have a choice. Every decision you make in your life is YOUR choice! A REAL man does what's right. His motivations are never, "I might get caught." Or, "I guess I should." He should do things because he knows it should be done. A REAL man can look back at his life and be proud of his deeds and accomplishments. Choose to do what is right! To all the women out there who put up with men that cheat, DON'T!! No one, man or woman, deserves that kind of disrespect, that level of dishonesty.
