So this is not technically BEHIND THE SONG b/c it covers more than one song...but no complaining!! besides, track 2 was an interlude and who wants a boring BEHIND THE INTERLUDE. thats wack.

BEHIND THE SONG(S)::Song Nicknames

All Magnetic North songs have a nickname. You know how works in progress usually don't have a "REAL" title to begin with so you make up a little somethin' somethin' as filler just so you can save the file? We do that. For instance, you may know Track 5 as "So Long" but we know it as "duncry". You say "Drift Away" we say "bboys", you think "Soliloquy" and we think "yeswow". I especially love "yeswow"... Anyway, I debated over whether I should reveal our nickname list or not (honestly, same of the nicknames are just embarassingly lazy and/or dumb haha) but WHY NOT.

By Track Order:
1. Unda Control (nickname: unda). Yes, not very random but if you recall from the previous 'behind the song', unda was one of the few songs where we had the chorus before anything else, so we already knew what the title would be from the beginning.

2. Demons / Only One (nickname: magnor). This beat was originally going to be used for a title track, so we called it magnor which it short for...you guessed it. Magnetic North.

3. Drift Away (nickname: bboys). You'll have to wait for Drift Away's 'Behind The Song' to understand it's nickname...

4. So Long (nickname: duncry). So Long contains a sample of the piano in Akeboshi's Wind (popularly known as the Naruto end theme) and the chorus of the song starts out with "DON'T CRYYYY...", except the singer has an accent so it sounds more like "DUN CRYYY"...and tada! nickname.

5. You and You (nickname: unity). Nicknamed after the artist we collabed with: Unity Nguyen.

6. Dozen of Dimes (nickname: WooWee and ReWooWee). Honestly, I don't know why we call this WooWee. Maybe Derek remembers. I do know that ReWooWee came from remixing WooWee, but that's it.

7. Dear Hip Hop (nickname: schools). This song was originally called "Schools of Thought" back when we wrote it in '03. Since then we gave it ye olde lyrical facelift+chemicalpeel treatment and decided to brand it with a new name. (random trivia: this is the FIIIRRST song Derek and I ever wrote/performed together...way back before MagNorth ever formed).

8. Soliloquy (nickname: yeswow). Because when derek finished the beat for this song his thoughts were: "Yes. Wow."

9. Price of Perfection (nickname: perfect daughter and price). My nicknames are so unimaginative I know. I should have nicknamed it YesNo or something.

10. One2One (nickname: one2one). Another boring nickname cuz Vienna Teng in all her glory thought of the chorus first so we already knew what the title was gone be.

11. We Will Not Be Moved (nickname: killu and wwnbm). DK thought the beat was menacing and murderous when he wrote it so he called it "KILL U". KILL U ALL!!!!
