So... just
when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, you realize that some
things will never change and a shark is always going to be a shark. Of course,
we're not REALLY talking about sharks but using it as an analogy.

As long
as we're on the analogy, it sort of begs the question, "What is a shark?" I'm
not talking about the sensational Hollywood idea of what a shark is, but the
more fundamental concepts. Well, simply put it is a predator. It feeds off of
others. It attacks whatever it thinks it can get away with. Other than that,
they're quite useless. I mean you could be going along minding your own business
and suddenly it'll come up behind you and bite you in the ass. Did you provoke
it? Probably not, but that really doesn't matter. All a shark knows is that it
needs to consume. It doesn't matter what and it doesn't matter when. Even worse
is that they're sneaky. You think that just because you've been around a shark
100 times and have kept it well fed that it won't turn on you. Well, think
again.

So why am I going on about sharks? As I mentioned before, it's an
analogy. Who is it an analogy for? Well, let's see if you can figure it
out...

It's amazing that after nearly 5 years, there is a dreadfully
pointless tuning company that still can't come up with an original thought...
They have to feed off of others. Case in point - 4 years ago I gave them
everything they have as far as 7.3L tuning information including software,
utilities, calibrations, contacts and yes, even their first customers. I held
their hand and taught them how to tune the 7.3L. Were they grateful? Sure, as
long I was useful to them. But in true shark form, it didn't matter how generous
I was or how long I hand fed them, I was turned upon. Ouch. Not surprisingly,
over the last 12 months I have found that there are several other companies and
individuals that have fallen victim to the voracious appetite of the shark. Of
course I won't name names but I am not the first, nor will I be the last, to be
bitten.  Speaking of being unoriginal, they even took the name of our Tuning
Software (that we sold when we owned Diesel Power in NC) and used it as their
company's name.  It made sense at the time, since they were supporting Diesel
Power's customers.  Now they've come up with a ridiculous tale of what their
name is supposed to stand for and how it came to be -- another blatant lie, but
I'm sure if they tell it to enough people, some might actually believe them.
Ah, hindsight is 20/20, now isn't it?

Since 1996 when I started with
Superchips, I've been used to other companies copying the calibrations I spent
hours and hours developing. In fact, it kept me on my toes and made me work
harder to provide the best possible calibrations available for not only the
7.3L, but also for F150's, Mustangs, Focuses (Focii?), 6.0L's and even the new
6.4L. Well, the 7.3L is not going to be around forever and without one
innovative thought in their head, it's only a matter of time before people
recognize the shark for what it is. They will eventually have consumed all they
can and when the free meal is over they will either go somewhere else or they
will starve to death. Either way, it doesn't matter to me because at least the
water will be safe to swim in again.

Well, I think I'm going to go curl
up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn (with my feet up of course ) and watch Jaws. You
know what the best part is? The shark gets blown up in the
end!
