My parents were visiting so we had the perfect excuse to do touristy stuff, like go round the Falkirk Wheel in a barge. It was awesome and I got all excited about the abstract beauty machinery and cute little fluffy ducklings and signets. The machinery didn't move as fast as the baby birds so it was much easier to photograph.
I rarely take pictures of places or things because I have this completely flawed enduring idea that places and things should look exactly the same in photographs as they actually look. Why? I have no idea. So I told my brain that the Falkirk Wheel was actually a (huge mechanical wheel-shaped) person and treated the photography process accordingly.
Industrial machinery can be so stunningly beautiful.
