When you stop looking, you start living.

Recently a gentleman asked me, 'What are you looking for?' And although the question was simple I found it quite funny. You see once upon a time, I'd often anticipate a problem of some sort - be it with a person, relationship or situation. Or, I'd secretly looked for a particular type of individual to fulfill my desires. Of course I was never truly happy because in the back of my mind I either wondered, "When will the other shoe drop?" or "Why can't they give me what I need?" But an interesting thing happened after a few heartaches. I realized through my haze of disappointments that people do according to their understanding and I finally understood that no one is responsible for my happiness except me.

So as I looked up into that stranger's soul-searching dark eyes, I responded, "Not one thing. I'm having the best time simply enjoying life."
