"WHATEVER HAPPENED TO AUNT ALICE?"
1969

Geraldine Page and Ruth Gordon battle it out to see who can swallow the most scenery whole.  It's from Robert Aldrich, but unlike "Baby Jane" or "Charlotte" - which were GOOD - "Alice" run off the rails in all directions, but is still an unbelievable testament to old-fashioned star power.

We'll never see another scene-stealer like Page!  As dear Father Dodder used to tell me, "She's got more business than Macy's at Christmas."

Enjoy the great, wacko trailer on Imdb <HERE:

OMG, that trailer was a riot! Definite SBIG potential. But can it be all that bad with a 7-star rating on IMDB? Definitely worth finding out...

Good choice in the Human Tornado.  I know you already mentioned it but it's worthy of an instant replay.

"Y'all think I didn't jump, huh?  Well watch this good shit!"

The Human Tornado is one of our faves! Yes we will definitely be screening that one day.

And thanks for the other recommends. We will check them out for SBIG potential.

Our first screening will be Tues. Jan. 30th and we'll be watching Plan 9 from Outer Space and The Apple. Details will be sent out shortly.  Look forward to seeing you there!

My all-time favorite is "Stone Cold" with Brian Bosworth.  But that's more of a "so bad it's perfect" film.

Also "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man"

Basically if a movie involves a renegade cop trying to bust a conspiracy relating to some made-up drug (something like "this is called 'blue crystal ice' - it's 50 times more addictive than heroine") and also the conspiracy goes "all the way to the top", it's the formula for the perfect bad film.

Tough question. There are so many bad movies that I love. Here are a few:

Saturday the 14th

Joysticks

Hardbodies

Parasite in 3-D.

Over the Top

Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

The Man Who Saw Tomorrow

Grease 2 (I actually think it's better than the original).

Thanks Beta Max!

There are a couple of these films we've been thinking about screening. And the others, we look forward to reviewing.

... and you know we're screening Gymkata in L.A. at the Vine Theater tomorrow, right?

You'd better come on out and see Kurt's mullet on the big screen while you still can...

You've got absolute GOLD with the Manitou there, I cannot TELL you how excited I am that Anchor Bay is releasing it on DVD!!!!  One of my top "so bad it's good" films!  I curse the fact that I don't live in LA, I would be at the showing in a HEARTBEAT!  Some of my other top choices:

Nukie (incredibly inept E.T. ripoff, which, if you're into, check out Badi, the Turkish version of E.T., as well)
Food of the Gods (farmer discovers "food" coming up from the earth, feeds it to livestock, hilarity ensues)
Rocktober Blood (I just can't decide if it's so good it's good, or so bad it's good.  If you're into 80's metal, it might just be the former rather than the latter)
Brainscan (an admittedly guilty pleasure...Eddie Furlong, killer video game, awful antagonist design)
Evilspeak (again, on the fence of bad/good...it's so purely enjoyable, and you just can't help but feel absolute glee at downtrodden Clint Howard exacting his revenge in this Carrie rip-off.  With the assistance of deceased grand Satanic priest Richard Moll [yes, Nightcourt's Bull] and incredibly outdated computer satanic imagery.  Thank god Anchor Bay already blessed this one with a release)

I could go on forever!!!  I will go on once again!  Thanks for the add; it's incredibly rare that I get a strange friend request that turns out to be worthwhile!

SBIG LOVES YOU!!! You've got true SBIG spirit, my friend. Hopefully you'll be able to attend one day... In the meanwhile thank you for the choices. There are a couple from your list that we've been considering and others gems that we weren't even aware of (You had me at Richard Moll...). We look forward to reviewing them all.

If Richard Moll entices you, you may want to check out "The Black Gestapo", featuring Charles Robinson (Mac from Nightcourt!).  Blaxploitation about a militant black power group that goes OVER THE EDGE.  Recommended!

(Try it without all the coding)
Maximum Overdrive -- I would come out and see that.

How often can you see a pinball machine attack a man, who responds by saying "Yo Momma!!"  Plus, Emilio Estevez is really convincing.
Fear -- the one with Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon, this movie is just so over the top that it couldn't be funnier.  Lots of fun nights watching this.
Also: Just One of the Guys, Hot to Trot, Last Action Hero, Anaconda.

For me it's a toss-up between 1989's Gleaming the Cube, starring a Heathers era Christian Slater, and a French offering called Les Yeux Sans Visage, a 1960 horror flick with a truly silly ending. I hope to see both of these screened at the SBIG fest. Thanks!

Here's the 2 cheesiest I can recall

C.H.U.D.
(Cannibalisitic Humaniod Underground Dwellers) (85')

&

ALLIGATOR (80')

It does not get any badder than these 2 stinky's.
(Well maybe it does I believe they made sequels for both, but these 2 are absolute bottom of the barrel films!)

It's crazy because as a kid I thought "ALLIGATOR" was the shiznit!

If you screen either I'll be the first to grab tix!!!!!
