So you want to model, huh?
Danger Ninja Productions is a professional photography business geared towards creating a portfolio and advancement towards a modeling career, as well as taking stellar high-end portrait, glamour and casual images for your own personal benefit. How can I achieve this efficiently and with the best possible images? By knowing what you want first and foremost in shooting with me, and being active in deciding where you want me to take your modeling career.
Every shoot with me is a unique, fun experience geared towards your interests and style, and I welcome anyone who wants to take part in this. I do have rates which are listed below. If you have any questions or want to set up a custom package, please contact me:
BASIC PACKAGE
$200 gets you my basic package, which includes a full shoot of 2-3 looks either in my studio or at a predetermined location. My studio has access to a variety of colored backdrops and I carry an assortment of props, though they have been shot a lot, so encourage you to bring your own as well. Additional looks or longer shoot times cost more and must be discussed with me before the shoot. :)
The fee covers my time in doing the shoot, as well as a set of the best photos from the shoot, usually around 4-5 shots per look, web-sized for internet portfolios. You'll either receive these online via a web album or by CD if you prefer it. Also, you'll receive up to 3 shots of your choice in hi-res printable size, which I can email to you or put on a CD as well. I only make prints upon request so let me know if you want me to make them for you, additional charges do apply for this.
For all photos given to you, you are receiving the right only to use them for your portfolio, not the rights to the photos themselves. All photos taken by me are copyrighted to me and me alone, and you will sign a model release at the shoot giving me full rights to all photos for my business purposes. Full usage rights to my photos cost much more - if you are interested in this, however, feel free to ask me and we'll talk rates. This is useful for businesses, advertisements, promotion, etc.
Any other limited-rights usage must be discussed with me before we shoot so the appropriate forms can be signed.
Shooting with a friend? If you want to bring a friend to shoot with as well, I typically charge double the rate but ask me about discounts based on the shoot theme and circumstance. :)
MAKEUP ARTIST/HAIR STYLIST
Makeup and hair styling are a huge addition to any shoot and can really set off the shots you're looking for. Makeup/hair rates vary depending on who I use and the style of shoot we're doing. I usually always request that the model pay said rate though for this addition to our shoot - this is in addition to my basic package. I work with a few highly-acclaimed stylists with fantastic portfolios and credits, and are well worth the time and money to hire.
Contact me in advance if you want your makeup and hair done, and I'll work out a rate based on what we need, or put you in contact with the stylists themselves.
BAND PACKAGES
I also do music photography! I encourage bands to come shoot with me or have me photograph their live show, because print photos for publicity or professional photos of a live experience can be a huge selling point in advertising and getting your band's name out to a wide audience.
My other profession is a music journalist, and my photography and writing work is featured in Crave Magazine and the Eugene Weekly (the former of which I still work for). I have done photography for dozens of nationally-publicized bands and artists, and am also very active in the local scene.
My band shoot flat rate is $300. Same deal as the basic model shoot; an album/CD full of resized images and up to 3 hi-res ones that I can also edit with your band's logo for promotional purposes. Photos can be in my studio or on-location, depending on preference.
Live show photos are $200, plus admission the guest list for me plus one other. This package also includes the album/CD and up to 2 shots in hi-res, and I also ask for my admission to the show, plus one guest. I will need to know the venue, time, location, and the name of your tour manager and/or the person at the venue in charge of the guest list and photographers.
SHOOT POLICIES:
1. In case of cancellation, I must be notified at minimum 48 hours in advance with a valid (meaning circumstances have rendered you completely unable to show up) excuse. This is not negotiable - it's in place so I can find a replacement for that day and have enough time to do so. If there is an emergency, call me right away - don't make me call you and find out after our scheduled time. It's much better for efficiency and business if you just show up the first time, on time. ;)
2. Unless you are purchasing the rights to my photos (which can be done at a rate that I will work out with you beforehand), absolutely NO cropping or editing my work is allowed without my permission. I professionally size, retouch and edit ALL of my photos myself, so you don't have to worry about the finished product.
3. Accompaniment to the shoot/escorts must be discussed with me prior to the shoot. No bringing a boyfriend/girlfriend or posse and showing on my doorstep with them without letting me know. I have the right to approve or disapprove anyone at my discretion. This doesn't mean I don't allow someone else to attend with you. I'm not a fan of it, but I will understand your circumstances. However, this situation can be remedied entirely by checking my hundreds of fantastic references, all of which I am happy to supply at your request. :)
4. Come prepared. Plan full outfits if you are bringing wardrobe, including shoes, accessories, and if there is no makeup artist, hair and makeup supplies. It's always good to bring too much, so over-plan it.
5. Be ready to have fun! Shoots with me are always an adventure and a good time with lots of dumb jokes, laughs and great photos.
