Well, I have managed to loosen up somewhat in terms of my anxiety. Yay me.

I surfed over to the depeche mode dot com website and signed up to participate in the forum and message boards. Never in my life have I seen
soooo many surnames of
Gahan, Gore, and a few
Fletchers and
Wilders to liven things up. Well, since
they are one of my favorite bands of all time, I decided to adopt a DM surname as well. I guess I've become somewhat of a conformist in my old age.....so sad.

Anyhoo, I have christened myself "
dharma gahan-northam".
As soon as you quit laughing, or as soon as
I do, I'll 'splain my new name. I couldn't
believe I was doing this.....I mean, at their concerts, I
never participate in the requisite "arm waving" during
Never Let Me Down. I like to stand back and watch everyone else foolish enough to participate, but that's just me. Ok, here's the reason for my
nom de guerre. I just like the name
Dharma. And Jenna Elfman was so cute in "Dharma & Greg". Incidentally, she was a burlesque dancer in DM's
Halo video.
Gahan: I've been crushing and lusting over Dave back when he went into "rock star" mode. This was in 1994 when DM were touring to support
Songs of Faith and Devotion. The long hair, the goatee, the tats. Thank heavens Dave cleaned up his act. Also, when I was first introduced to Mr. Buttercup many moons ago, I was told he looked "
just like" Dave. Back in the day, if I was
drunk enough and not wearing
corrective lenses, yeah,
maybe Mr. B. could've passed for a relative of Dave's, but not the actual
honey, er, uh, I mean,
person.
Northam: My latest crush,
also a Brit, was discovered last spring. I was in Dallas and came across this movie on late-night, weekend TV amidst all the damn infomercials.

"Happy, Texas" was the movie starring Steve Zahn, M.C. Gainey, Ally Walker, Ileana Douglas, Paul Dooley, William H. Macy, and
Jeremy Northam. After the movie was over, I couldn't get Jeremy out of my mind. First of all,
the name. It just
sounded so British for some reason despite the fact the character in the movie had an
American accent. Don't ask me why. And Jeremy's eyes.

It seems you could just lose yourself.

The man is a sweet ol' piece of
eye candy.

When I finally found a used copy of the DVD and watched interviews with the cast, lo and behold, this boy
did indeed have a British accent!! Again, I'd never heard of JN until I saw this movie.
I think I've become a closet Anglophile. And in Native American circles, that's not good.

One gets relentlessly teased for being an "Apple"; You know, red on the outside, white on the inside. I can't help it. I knows what I like. I even like Craig Ferguson.....
still.......even though the cheeky bastard got married recently.
So, if you want to meet up with me at depeche mode dot com, just look for
dharmagahan-northam......
