A Dark In The Light has officially changed it's name to "Darken The Light". This new name, centered around a verb rather than a noun, tips a hat to a new era of action and development in the 30-month life of this project. We are booking solid shows and drawing heads, making new friends left and right, and developing a slew of brutally beautiful new songs.
You can hear two of these new songs on our MySpace, recorded by Kevin at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA during our co-headlining set on July 21st (last week), entitled "Clean Slate" and "Mercy". The show was a major success, bringing new Darken The Light fans into the fold, re-solidifying tight friendships with our friends in Uncle Lefty and Avariel, and generally getting us pumped about being a Boston metal band. 100 people on a rainy Tuesday night? Not too shabby, not too shabby at all.
Photographer Ricardo Zapata has come
through for us again, working pro-bono to give us great new promo
shots, which you can see in our individual photos and our "pics"
section. We will post more of them soon, and will be posting a band
photo at the top of this page ASAP. If you're in the Boston area this coming week and you like quality live rock and roll, come out to OBrien's Pub on Harvard Ave in Allston, MA (Harvard Ave stop on the B line) next Thursday, August 6th. It's gonna be a GREAT night full of great bands, including our good friends in We Met Aliens, Scourge, and The Under. WE GO ON AT 9:00, SO GET THERE BY 8:45 AT THE LATEST!!!
Thank you to everyone for the constant support, come see us play near you soon, and remember to support local bands and businesses!
Mike
