the beginning of the end is knowing one exists...

a conversation between me and the gato:

"there is no point going on if all you want is to tell me what to do"

"what goals do we have in common besides needing to eat and comfortable place to sleep?"

"how can you say i've done wrong when i've given you all these things?"

"why do i feel that i'm responsible for you, i never wanted to be a father"

"if you'd only listen to me and obey, everything would be much better for you... but you dont listen to me..."

"why dont you like me anymore?"

"why must you be so self-important?"

"you dont hear me anymore!"

"how can i hear you when all you do is talk?"

"you're the one who never stops talking."

"cant you see i'm only asking for your affection?"

"affection or obedience?"

Well, this really has nothing to do with anything, but I'm sure you know cats don't do the obedience thing. They leave it to us to do, not them. I had this beautiful Siamese kitty & I decided when the time came I wanted her to "get with" the beautiful Siamese boy down the block so that we could have beautiful, blue-eyed Siamese babies. In time, I noticed this scruffy, kind of orange-striped guy yowling around at my sliding glass doors, kind of battle-scarred, with the tip of one of his ears bitten off, probably from some alley fight. I shooed him away from my sliding doors umpteen times & finally ending up closing my blinds in his tattered mug, only to hear his muffled, plaintive "Rowr," begging that naughty little hussy to sneak out & join him. One day, she did, and one day I had UGLY little kittens. SIGH. They were sweet, and cute in their ugly little way, and when the time came, we found homes for them. Okay, again, when the time came we decided to give her another chance, a second litter, and then we'll fix her. Again, ol' orange stripes came yowling at the sliding doors and again the lil hussy made her escape, and again I ended up with ugly little kitties. After finding homes for those, we gave up on her. So she was fixed and she's not contributing any more ugly little kittens to the world, but her battle scarred man always came looking for her and he was never deterred by a broom. Which just goes to show, ya can't stand in the way of true love, no matter how ugly & battle scarred the man is.
