Poseurs!
Long time, no blog! Well, if you read the book JOHNNY GRUESOME--the publishers call it a novel, but that's a lie, it's my BIOGRAPHY--you know I'm floating all disembodied in Red Hill's Willow Creek. So I've got more important things on my mind than maintaining friendships with all of you losers! Like, how the hell do I reconstitute myself for a sequel? How do I land that ever elusive movie deal? And who do I have to blow to get out of this creek?!?
Anyway, JOHNNY GRUESOME has won an IPPY Award in the "Horror" category. It won the Gold medal, which means 1st place, suckas! The award will be given out at BookExpo America in NYC at the end of this month; it will be a fancy black-tie afffair. Ten bucks to anyone who steals the medal and throws into this creek. That medal belongs to ME, not "Author" Gregory Lamberson.
While I'm bragging about awards, the cover for JOHNNY GRUESOME by artist Dan Plumley was nominated for a Benjamin Franklin Award--also being given out at BEA! I don't want you to steal that one, though--Dan deserves it.
And JOHNNY GRUESOME has also been nominated for a Superior Achievement in a Novel Bram Stoker Award! Those bad boys will be handed out at the Stokers banquet in Burbank on Sat, June 13th. I hear Lamberson will be there, his filmmaking book CHEAP SCARES was also nominated, for Superior Achievement in Nonfiction. Hey, that's what JOHNNY GRUESOME should ahve been nominated for!
If you didn't know it, Lamberson is directing SLIME CITY MASSACRE, the sequel to SLIME CITY, in Buffalo, NY this July. The film stars Debbie Rochon, Jennifer Bihl, Lee Perkins, Kealan Patrick Burke, Robert Sabin and MAry Bogle!
Rot in Hell,
JOHNNY
