Thank you one and all who sent personal messages or called The Monkwood, your action has produced a result and the BNP Meeting for Thursday has been cancelled.

The Land Lord has said that he did not appreciate just how much trouble he was bringing on himself by allowing the meeting in his pub.

While I am sure we all appreciate the problems that some Land Lords currently face in the License Trade, (indeed we have only recently covered the problems in one of our News Blogs) there is a line that one needs to draw as far as organised meetings are concerned.

It's great that the Land Lord now appreciates the depth of feeling amongst the good people of Rawmarsh and those in the music community that responded to our call for help. We even had messages of support from Russia.

On a personal note I'm glad that Martin woke up to the reality of the problems that he was bringing upon himself.

It all goes to show that United against Fascism we can rid ourselves of the hate that Party's like the BNP can be defeated. Make sure it's at the ballot box as well.

And don't forget that we have a United Against Fascism Acoustic Music Fund Raising Night at Nellie Deane's this Saturday 24th August hosted by Andy Holt - please come along and give the evening your support.

Power to the (real) people!

Common sense prevailed in the end. That is good to hear (and see). Well done Mashers, well done Rawmarsh and well done Martin, you did the right thing and that is so good to hear!

Just keep the faith everyone, because together you'll turn the tide! Don't let your guard down just yet though....

Well done!

The Abbot
