Subject: Chacha walk out

Hi, I was looking at the board to see if you had heard about the walk out. People are saying they are upset about the way chacha is treating their guides. So someone decided on monday that if no one logs in too chacha maybe they would see that they are treating their people wrong and make chages to help their people not take things away. I agree with this whole thing. They have fired people because of pranks and have worked harder to help the pranks then to help us. I just read the article about the chacha guide saving for her daughters b-day. wow that brought tears to my eyes. This could be either one of us! Now people are cashing out everynight. Chacha is making more 2.00 then anyone we know. SOmething has to be done. You can edit this and post however you like. I am looking forward to the greta american chacha walk out!

I go to sign out and I get this.

I was not aware of the boycott, T, but I could have bet good money on it happening eventually. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to have the desired result which I guess is for ChaCha to change its ways? Stop doing crazy things? Hire people with real customer support skills? I don't know, I'm just grasping at straws here LOL

And I'd support you guys in doing it but as I said two posts earlier, I no longer do ChaCha. It's a waste of time, always has been, and will forever be. Unless you were an original guide that got in during the first two weeks of ChaCha's existence, knew a lot of good people to build your network with, and made a ton of money off of it before all the problems began, you weren't going to be successful.  It was an uphill battle. I had started in September. The Guides that came after that only had it worse.  I can't imagine it's going to get better from here on out.

It's disappointing that it had to come to this stage. One would think that a company that just got handed 6 mil from Bezos not too long ago would have learned how to operate  and behave like a corporation by now and not like the college fraternity house atmosphere it's currently emulating. I know some Guides are under the impression that phonecalls from Brad are not common but I would like to point out that they are. I've received dozens of emails from people--who asked I not publish their stories--that received phonecalls from him or someone else up there at the HQ.  I've never heard of Indy calling someone though it wouldn't surprise me to learn he did if I ever hear about it.

Almost every phonecall was to alert the Guide to "fraudulent" activity that was occuring on their account. To this date I have only heard from one person who actually committed the fraudulent activity by using the training refresh exploit. Otherwise, all emails I received were from individuals who didn't know which end was up or what they had done to deserve to be deactivated.

I believe the guides.

At first I was shocked, then I was pissed off, then I calmed down, now I think it's asinine.

I was also in somewhat regular contact with someone over at their HQ (who contacted me first) although I promised never to name who they are.  I won't go back on the promise. I heard ChaCha's side of the story.  Now I don't want to hear their side at all. And never again.

I've done enough listening and it's time to get back to my original purpose here. To expose the problems with this company and the battles that their "workers" have to face on a regular basis.

Keep me posted on the boycott.  If you want me to help get the word out this is the best way I can help you as this blog still receives a substantial amount of hits per day even though I haven't written in it for over a month.

But......I guess I'm going to have to start posting again, now, aren't I?

Rumor has it that any guide taking an outside search on Monday will be assured a bad rating.  I haven't worked ChaCha much lately for various reasons but I am SURE I will not work on Monday.  We get enough bad ratings from the pranksters. A  guide with almost 4,000 searches was demoted to Apprentice recently from getting too many bad ratings, I will not take that chance myself.

O.o

They will receive a bad rating from who? Infoseekers or the system will just generate bad ratings to any guide working in the system on Monday?  Either way, I would like to know the reasoning behind this if you can offer it.

I am assuming from other guides that are staging the "walk-out".  I would assume it would be to encourage guides NOT to work on that day for fear of the ratings, hence demotion.  But I fear the ratings everytime I take an outside search so I guess it would be no different?

I went and checked WAHM last night for as long as I could and saw a lot of what I suppose led up to this?

The guide that got demoted to Apprentice must be pretty pissed. I know I'd be after taking that many searches and suddenly finding myself back to square one. I swear, ChaCha's beginning to sound like a live version of Candyland in this regard. Remember how you used to play and then all of a sudden you landed on that wrong spot and had to start all over?

Ridiculous.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna see what I can dig up on this on my own from some sources and I'll be posting more if I find out anything. Of course, if you want to be a pal, you can always write a lengthy email to me and do the work for me. Hint, hint.

LOL.

Just kidding.  Take care Daisy :)

Yes, she's pretty darned ticked and I don't blame her.  She is an awesome guide and one of the sweetest people with whom you'd want to be acquainted.  She is dedicated also, or at least was.  She isn't the only one that this has happened to either.  From the last mail from HQ an apprentice has 15 searches to make it to pro or they're gone.  If the same thing goes for a demoted guide then there will be many gone.  I am extremely careful as to what I take as far as searches go but even the safe ones are apt to rate "bad" as my last one did.  I do not want to be demoted but if I get too many bad ratings then that will surely be the case.  I would love to write a lengthy email to you but I'm quite sure you will do a much better job than I.  I have poured over your posts looking for errors in grammar and spelling to no avail, haha.

You take care too pAL. :)

Well, I saw your board right after I signed up for ChaCha & hoped that maybe your experience was an isolated incident, but after having worked for them about a week, I received an e-mail today telling me that I have been permanently deactivated because of QC reasons and I wasn't improving. I had received a couple of QC messages (remember they said not to be scared of these, that they were only there to help?), citing me for presentation and unsure why, I sent a message to feedback to ask for clarification, as I wanted to do everything I could to improve, but I never received anything back. After presenting the questions and responses to the forum, the only problem that was indicated was my use of emoticons. I don't recall seeing anything in the handbook about this issue, but know that it specifically says that we can "personalize" each response. Yeah, right. The ironic thing is, just yesterday I received an e-mail congratulating me on having over 200 searches in my first week. I should have heeded the many warnings out there. Now they say I won't receive my whopping $40 for at least 45 to 60 days. Sorry, just venting and this seemed to be the place to do it!
