Thinking about my time at my high-school in New York. Young girls can be pretty cruel growing up in school, particularly when you are slightly overweight. I remember one girl, I won't call her out here but again in the book, she is now in a few movies and television shows nothing spectacular as far as acting goes. She would always come to school done up with her hair done and never did P.E. The final straw came one time when a "friend" who had been staying with me for free at my parents Manhattan, cozied up to this snobby chick and started rumors about me right after my father had died. I was overweight, I was also very nice to my friend, but now because she hadn't seen me kiss a girl, apparently I way gay. I confronted the two girls about this and they got uncomfortable because Mac, my good friend from school also came and asked them what the hell they were thinking saying stuff like that about me.
Fast forward to recently. I saw this actress on a popular series on TV and I was amazed at how old she already looked. As sad as it is to say, it didn't make me smile. I felt bad for her. All that youth and beauty is almost gone. I hope she enjoyed it while it lasted because maybe high-school was as good as it gets for her.
