Hey everyone this is my Monster Energy pro update!
It's been a crazy few months--from touring Asia and playing with Ferraris to ripping it up in Texas in front of the Alamo. So here's a little recap on the last few months: I kicked off July with a few competitions along with suffering the huge loss of a friend and team member, my mechanic and crew chief for Performance Kawasaki Asia, John Hew, who was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident leaving behind a wife and unborn child along with countless friends. We pressed on in his memory and I had the ability to compete on my brand new Seminole PowerSports Monster Energy ZX6RR, which is a huge but welcomed change from the old rig I had before. FMF made sure to overnight me a custom pipe to really set the bike off and make it perform at its best and what can I say, for having 140 miles and about an hour of seat time on the bike, it's an amazing ride.
As soon as I got home, it was time for my cohort in crime, Ryan S., to pack to up the Ogio bags and take a trip back over to Asia to the Zhuhai International Circuit (Zhuhai, China) to perform for the Ferrari World Owners Association. It was an awesome 7-day trip to perform a 15-minute show. I defiantely appreciate Performance Kawasaki of China for converting one of their tack school bikes to the sick Monster Energy Kawasaki I was able to perform on. Unfortunately during the practice day, I popped a motor, but thanks to the quick workings of the mechanics who tossed a new one in and it was as good as new. The show went off without a hitch and as a reward we were able to play with a few Ferrari's like they were go-carts around the circuit--with adult supervision of course.
It was yet again a brutal almost 25-hour trip home to the U.S. But it was good to be home: I took a few days to chill with my wife and kid before I had to jet yet again. This time, myself, tour manager Kris VanOrden and the newest member to the team AMA Pro rider turned stunt rider Matt Zeiler, all loaded up the rig and set course for the International D.A.R.E. Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Meeting up with the other piece of the puzzle, officer and stunt rider Frank Geremia, we had a 20 min. warm-up then got to rip it up in front of the Alamo… needless to say, people will never forget the Alamo after what we did in front of it! From there, we had a day to get to the Hurricane Alley Drag Race Series. However, the day got off to a rainy start and the event was canceled to the disappointment of all the fans that showed up. Still, that didn't stop myself and Matt from throwing on a side demo in the rain-soaked parking lot.
As for now, I'm back in Florida packing for MotoGP and the XDL Stunt Riding Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, this weekend. Along with competing this weekend I'm going to cheer on my fellow Monster Energy Kawasaki riders John Hopkins and Anthony West. This is the first time a MotoGP is being held at the Indianapolis circuit. It seems like Team Green machines have what it takes to make big things happen. That's all for now. Keep your cans up and your hands up, we're coming to a city near you soon. For more info you can check out www.tlstunts.com
