So we've been a bit dormant for a while for a number of reasons...school, work and others, but Black Zebra is back in action.
We've resumed rehearsals, getting back into the studio, and preparing for our first show in months scheduled for October 24 at Red Bones Cafe.
We have a new band member in the form of guitarist David Lazarus. Wayne and Richie have worked with him before (Richie has known him most of David's life) back in the early days of Village Cafe. He brings a lot to the table for a young musician. He's been playing music most of his life, and studied sound recording in college. He's a welcome addition to the team and brings a fresh flavour to the music. We look forward to working with him.
We'd really love to get your feedback on the music we have up on the site so far. Let us know what you think and be sure to make it to our show on October 24. Admisson is JA$500 (as usual).
We're also looking forward to performing at a new venue that has come alive in recent weeks. Live Music Nation, put on by Griot Music, has been putting on live music shows for some time now, and their intenetion is to have live music playing 7 days a week in Kingston, Jamaica. They started with Tuesdays and Thursday at Christophers @ the Quad, and most recently, Friday nights at the new Village Blues Bar in Liguanea, and Saturday nights at Heathers restaurant in New Kingston. Thier latest venue is Rock night on Wednesdays at the Grovesnor Galleries in Manor Park. That's the venue BZ will be performing at next, tentatively on November 24. So look out for that as well.
Lets have your comments.
Peace and Love
