Current mood:  thankful
Category: Music
It was a scorcher of a day! I heard 108 degrees - no wonder I was hot! haha

We got there 2 hours before show time. From the moment I arrived I felt so well taken care of. The Wagon Wheel Staff was just amazing!

My dressing trailor was HUGE! We all kicked it there getting ready for the show. The promoter had sent me a little card thanking me for being there and a gift of the posters and things from the show. They are such a nice family and class act! The nicest promoters I have worked for. It just had a family atmosphere about it and it felt like they brought me into their family. That is the only way I can describe it really. They added my name to all the posters, t-shirts and my picture on their Jumbo Trons inbetween acts along with the other artists. Made me feel good and just so happy!

Thanks Mike, Les, Pam, and Danielle and congrats to a job well done!!! I had a blast and would be honored to do this again with y'all!

Can't explain what an amazing experience though. The stage was really cool and the sound was off the hook! Great people to work with too. The venue itself is great! Storm Stadium is the coolest baseball feild! Just a perfect place to have this Festival. People were setting up blankets up on the hill and on the feild while other chose to sit in the stands. The parking lot was filled with the coolest vendors and foods! I got the coolest tank top from Cowboy & Cowgirl Xtreme Apparel.

My band did me proud too! This was an all new band and all from CA. They were just awesome and the best group to work with too! It is one of those groups that there was an imidiate chemistry with. Get used to seeing them on stage with me cuz they are my new family now! I am very proud of them all! Thanks too Mike Hill, Michael James, Mike Lewis, Roger Malniowski, and Christine Flowers! You guys are the BEST! I know you worked your tooshie's off and it showed! Love you all!

It was early and like I said - hot - so people were all in the stands in the shade and some braving the hot scorching sun! You guys were the true Rock Stars - thank you for being there for me. Meant so much to me to have you there! Also thank you to those who were wearing my T-Shirts! I felt very suported by you guys!!!

I hung out all day and got to meet many of you walking around. So fun! There were so many great artists on that stage. Some of my favs were fellow California's Austin Law who did a killer acoustic set, Jessica Andrews, Jamie O'Neal who's voice was just incredible, Mark Chestnut who was better then ever and of course - Jason Aldean who just lit the place on fire! Everyone was just great! The Bud Light Stage had some great acts too like The Kanan Road Band. Wish I could have been there today. Amazing lineup today! Check it out at www.wagonwheelfestival.com

At the end of the day all I can say is it was a truly great day and I was proud to be a part of it's first year! Everyone should be! Even the fans. You were part of something in the making and that is so special!

Thank you - and I love you all!!!

Thanks for posting this info, Karista.  It is obvious that you had a wondreful time.  And I am sure the audience had a better time listening to you perform.  I am so very glad that you new band really kicked butt for you.  The temperature may have been 108, but I am sure you were the hottest thing about the day.
Luv ya lots,
Michael
