The
cult of celebrity has hit a new low... its Chk Chk Boom Time....
For
those of us in Sydney, and filtering out to the rest of the country,
workforces and chatrooms everywhere have been inundated with opinions
on Clare Werberloff – this weeks fad..

Warhol, your 15 minutes of fame prophecy has been fulfilled.. by next
week, she will have been forgotten, in an age that demands fresh
entertainment daily... no depth please.. only the frivolous is
allowed to blossom.
Despite
her racist humour, and it was racist, it was mildly entertaining, due
to her relatively straight faced delivery. The reason it exists at
all? We are in the throng of a politically correct backlash...
everyone is sick of tiptoeing around the other, while whispering
behind closed backs what we really think.. Clare has simply brought
it to the surface, like pus from a pimple..
The
real culprit here is the media, Channel 9 in this case, which gave
her airtime in the first place. Newsrooms have not escaped a scale
back in the era of globalisation. Once upon a time, a journalist
would have viewed all material for a story, then written a script and
had it verified with a producer. Anything questionable would have
been escalated to a senior producer long before it was considered for
air.
Not any more.
There was no journalist in the main street of
Kings Cross, and seemingly, no one with half a brain perusing the
footage before it went to air. How can anyone not see that she was
having a joke? Don't blame her for some spur of the moment playup to
a camera in the middle of the night.What she or anyone else says when
a camera is in their face is irrelevant. Channel 9 are the real air
heads here, where all that matters is that latest flotsam of
sensationalism, like a piece of turd floating in the toilet bowl.
Channel 9 are the racists, giving the spiel air time. Gone is any
sense of journalistsic skill, not that the networks had much
credibility to begin with, this is just the latest example of net
trash.
Will
next weeks idiot please stand up? The networks are waiting to put you
to air and deliver you open and vulnerable to the public, like a
christian in the colleseum, so they can then stand around and
moralise about your intent, then follow your brief notoriety and
return to pick over your carcass when you ultimately fall from grace.
Beware
of the cameras folks, theres a vulture lurking behind each one.
