Poem Dedicated To:
The Independent Woman
You contain more than an extra rib,
Were created for more than to just be his,
You possess a treasure beneath the skin,
A soul pure regardless of the expectation,
Your value doesn’t lie from between the thighs,
But more along the lines from the price of your mind,
The cost for equality in societies eyes,
Expensed to be less because ignorance is blind,
Dreams tend to fade because the odds have been stacked,
But your head help up- shouldn’t be viewed from your back,
Let go of your defense- and learn to attack,
Obstacles are only facades, unless your passion is lacked,
Value only descends when the items been used,
Don’t shelf yourself for purchase; you’re more than a tool,
Be the hand of creation, not the object he choose
Don’t become the blueprint- instead let the creator be you,
Don’t let vices of the media, determine your worth,
Or a magazine cover, saying your body needs work,
Only workout you need, is your problems in church,
If you’re a diamond in the ground, just brush off the dirt,
Educate yourself on the items you need,
Not the wants from deception by desires from greed,
Let prayer be the only occupation that you have on your knees,
That’s a mans position, but only when there’s a ring,
So the life you live, make more than just dreams,
Understand relationships aren’t solo- but are built on a team,
Yeah the most important just might be the king,
But life is like chess- true power- it lies with the QUEEN
