Through MySpace's Dashboard statistics I have learned that 85% of my fans and listeners are in America. Of those, 85 % are from the Metro Atlanta area with the remaining 15% divided between Tennessee and Pennsylvania. Fifteen percent of my fans are in Canada. I am not sure how Canadians discovered my music but I am grateful to have fans, especially international ones. I am always considering ways to promote my music and myself. I'm not getting any younger but I hope I can continue making music and traveling for a long time. Music is a big part of what I live for. Speaking of not getting any younger, those Dashboard statistics say that mine is mostly a mature audience. Don't let that scare the younger generation off as I feel my music has a universal appeal. Give a listen to several of my songs on this site and you will see they have a broad appeal through various genres. Then go over to AirPlayDirect.com/eddierhoades to hear a few of my latest and greatest songs that will be on my next CD. Christmas is coming soon and I would like to remind everyone that one of my CDs, ordered through CD Baby would make an inexpensive and welcomed Christmas gift and would help me come closer to breaking even as professional recordings done in a studio can get expensive.
The Frank Brown International Songwriter's Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama runs 13 days. This year it will be by invitation only. They will not announce who is invited till the last possible minute but my brother Robert and I have already decided we are going, invited or not. We won't be crashing the party but simply will hang out with the other musicians and play at lots of local open mics. We just love to play. Many times we don't get paid, we do it as a labor of love. Sometimes we do get paid but not enough to live on. What pleases us a lot is to get paid, make a good bit on tips plus sell several of our CDs. Robert has a great CD out but to order it you would have to contact him through MySpace.com/robertrhoadesmusic. He writes the most beautiful love songs ever, somewhat like John Denver. He throws in a rocker or two just to change the pace. I am proud of his songwriting and playing ability. Please drop me a line or two so I will know you're out there in cyberspace. Feel free to make any comments on my songs or my writings.
