what is the deal with artists using sacred MUSIC for VENTING their own personal vendettas on life? im sick of it. in my view, the music industry is on PAUSE right now because of these unhealthy musicians USING music for therapy in their own lives.
    ya, societys sick right now in buying it all up, but that should mean more initiative from the music world! WE as MUSICIANS/ARTISTS play a very important role in what we are singing/rappin ABOUT to the people. the responsibility, in my eyes, lies in our hands as to what kind of morality/ethics we wish to portray to the type of society we would want to live in. not just some lame mantra stuck on one veiwpoint on how shitty life is 'at the moment', or how much money an women u got.
     so your a rap/rock star, u made it. dont get stuck! thats where it's all supposed to BEGIN. you make it, then u go out an make a difference with all that success u got! change your game when u reach that kinda success an start rappin bout what we can do as a people, as a youth in this country to make a difference in the still screwed up parts of the world. u don't even need to have the INTENT of selling an example or being a 'role model'- just go out an DO it. (i heard lil wayne say this: "theres sumthin wrong with u if u need an 'example' on how to be a human". change your angle man, do it for yourself if u have half a conscience. how can u reach the top an STILL have such a lousy view??)
    the bar MUST BE RAISED from 'therapy' to PURPOSE in music now, especially NOW with all the responsibility we've come to achieve, as artists, to the rest of the world. u got any single star being born, right here in the states, then being pod/broadcasted to the rest of the planet- THATS the protocol nowdays in the 'entertainment' world! thats a LOT (in my eyes) of responsibilty to humanity. apparently more than i'm able to handle at the time anyway.
     to sum up, if youve gotta song to sing, sing it, its all expression. but just know that when u do sing your song, even if your hearts all in it (your heart can be in something that isnt doin much), just know how its goin to affect other people that may be singing that part of your life right there with you, too. if u really want people singing along to the drama about you breaking up with an ex, or even just yer own oppinion on how screwed up the world is in general, just please know this... yer not doing much. no matter how many records yer sellin.
