It's called "Shut Up." The cover art is by my brilliant friend, painter Richard Louderback, you can see it in the profile pic.

Mixed (with some additional overdubs/vocal re-tracking)over two days with the extravagantly great Matthew Barnhart at the Echo Lab in Argyle, Texas, preceded by 20 straight hours of final overdubs. I had been awake 36 hours by the time I arrived at the Echo Lab. Good thing we didn't start mixing until the next morning.

I think it was a great omen that Bubba Kadane was in the studio when I arrived that night--- without him I probably would have just kept writing songs instead of getting the band together to play with The New Year when they came to Austin.

The last two weeks of tracking were accompanied by cedar-fever induced Marburg Virus. This record took three months to record, sometimes sporadically, sometimes at a feverish pace.

One lesson learned: do not make a record during cedar fever season if you suffer from it. This means the second record will have to be started in.....April.

We'll be mastering it very soon, will have some CD's by SXSW, and double-LP vinyl available sometime after that.

Thanks for listening.
